I'm not a economist, but I thought the purpose of interest was to charge for the risk of the loan and allow finance companies to make money. Getting rid of interest would be stupid because you would be eliminating the part of a capitalist society that keeps the money flowing.
Our current economic situation, as I understand it, is a problem of lack of proper regulation on financial comanies. If we want to solve problems, don't eliminate interest. Instead, regulate it properly.

It is as if you have no concept of producer price competition.
I understand the cost of production via materials, machines, tools, capital, labor power, etc., and I do understand the wrestling match between producers. However, profits are made possible from labor and labor produces all social wealth. Labor time extracts wealth from the earth to create machines and products which make profits for capitalist. Wages have to remain low for profits so if taxes were to be removed the capitalists as a class would fill that void with higher prices over time.
Capitalism is nothing but the practice of raising up the rich and powerful by letting them step on the backs of the average person. The nationalistic morons think it IS patriotic to support this dysfunctional system.
