How I often I feel like this at work. Somedays I listen to this on the way to work and it makes my day that much better. .... Ben rocks! He always has. I will never get sick of his shit.
ok now, why the fuck wasn't I the one born with this talent. It's just very depressing and totally un-fair. Lucky I have a doctors appointment on wed. tommyd
After listening to this song a billion times I noticed he starts saying something at 2:03. After listening to it a billion more times, and without even trying to hear what it was he said starting at 2:03, I heard what he said starting at 2:03. Anyone else hear it?
I only just understood what was meant by the lyrics "Everywhere I go damn there I am." I feel slow. But ya, this song is amazing. If I ever figure out the piano, I want to learn this.
@mbasketcballb Well on the surface it seems like it's about a paranoid boss whose co-workers don't like him, so he wants to fire all of them (kind of like my boss :P ) But being it's a Ben Folds song there's probably a little more to it than that. You can take your own meaning!
This is a seriously underrated B Folds song, could be his best. Ben, I have to say you've gotten a little bland since this album. Still good, but bland. Please write another song like this that f***in rocks. Thank you.
Man I've been practicing this song on piano for almost 2 years now, and I STILL can't play the solo @ full speed. It's f***ing hard. Also he just actually played this at a concert a week ago, and I wasn't there. fml.
@hklinker Dude I bought the Way to Normal Special Edition CD/DVD combo, I've heard it about 10 times through, and it is good, but I think 'Suburbs' is his last REALLY good album. He's still awesome though.
I completely agree with you. The Ascent of Stan, Zak and Sara, and the Luckiest are damn good songs (and have been my favorites of the album at a point in time), but now that I listen to Fired, it has quickly become my new favorite. This song usually isn't considered one of the highlights of the album, but it should still be topping the Billboard 100. Ben Folds may be the best artist to come out of the 90's. And yeah, his new works are bland and actually kind of too weird for me. :P
This song just sounds so happy.....but I love how the lyrics match the accompaniment in a very roundabout but not so roundabout way at the same time...if that makes sense....lol
Very few songs on Youtube have 0 dislikes... just shows how good it is.

@sabres10910 No one just does something and is instantly the best at it, it's called hard work.

You need to check out Way to Normal. Lots of rollicking tunes there, so I don't think 'bland' is a fit for that album, anyway.
