  • saw them in Prague. awesome show.

  • so excited i stumbled upon this, i've got some nosing around to do(:

  • Travis Touchdown!

  • I think what happened to Leon Trotsky was that he was a communist.

  • @stickdudeking777 Yeah but a proper communist, not a tyrannical, Nazi fraternising Stalinist asshole. Would never have been a cold war with him in charge.

  • @EbsNhexz proper communism consistently breeds corruption.

  • @stickdudeking777 There hasn't really been an example of a proper communist state to base that opinion on, just dictatorships in a socialist disguise which isnt communism at all.

Lol i just wanted to add, that despite the nature of my comments that i am a believer in Democracy. I just think the world would have been a better place with Trotsky heading up the Soviet Union instead of Stalin. I think rock in general is pretty left wing..so im just following the trends =D

  • @EbsNhexz Socialism isn't innately evil, communism and socialism are two different things, Sweden has worked out well with socialism, but communism gives too much power to the government.

  • @stickdudeking777 I must interject, I believe that the Communism that you are referring to is better described as Stalinism. That was what was really applied to the Soviet Union in Stalin's time. True Marxist communism involves no government at all, only citizens to whom all wealth is collectively owned in the community. That's is at least what i've learned, I might still be wrong.

  • @flyingninja745 If i may offer a rebuttal, Marx didn't create communism. In fact, he heavily based his formation of economy on the economic systems of the Hebrews and early Christian communities. They, however, quickly fell out of power because certain people held too much power in sorting out the food and money. People are corrupt most of the time, and they choose to corrupt themselves.

  • 25年ブリ!!やっぱりI like!!!!

  • I belive arnold swartz is singing this song

  • Dedicated to my first love Gail Craven from St. Helens

  • CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM IN MARCH 11TH AT THE HAMMERSMITH APOLLO............WHOOOOOOO!!!!

  • Takes me right back to my youth!

  • Fucking great tune ` If you look at lyrics from the 90's and before, you'll notice that they are decent and you can tell that the artists have put effort in to writing them. look at a song today and there's 5 thing`s you'll DEFFINITELY come accross: 1) Money 2) Love. 3) Guns 4) Sex 5) Cars. And the rock and roll, Punk and decent genre's are DEAD. it's all R&B, hiphop, chart shit.. Like if you agree!

  • @XTunnicliffeX not true at all. sure if you look at chart music. but there is pleeeenty good music around if you actually look.

  • @XTunnicliffeX yeah cause that NEVER happened before the 90's *eyeroll*

  • 1.3 Never forget.

  • grande canzone !

  • It's pop, it's punk, it's rock n'roll. Everyone talks of the defining bass sound of JJ Burnel, (and for good reason), but Hugh's vocals have a quality that has been copied and million times (and unacknowledged), but never equalled. Masculine, aggressive, and sarcastic, without losing tunefulness or depth.

  • THIS SONG DONT SAY NOTHING ABOUT LENIN, BUT OUR DEAR LENNY BRUCE

  • thumbs up if you looked at this beacuase it says no more heroes

  • Jean Jaques Burnell was a sex god !

  • Jean Jaques Burnell was a sex god

  • I think this music video was Suda's inspiration for making the boss loading screens in no more heroes.

  • the best pop song of the 70's now that punk can be viewed as pop

  • haven't listened to this song in literally years.. reminds me of my early early early years.. thanks for the memories

  • @MassimoConnolli I actually looked it up. Pretty fine bit of trolling right there.

  • @MassimoConnolli This song dates from 1977! Elastica were going in the 1990! Next you will be telling me that the (at least) 3 Elastica songs that sound suspiciously like Wire were actually ripped off by Wire. Perhaps The Stranglers and Wire built a time machine, travelled forward to the 1990's and copied Elastica, before travelling back to the 1970's!

  • @MassimoConnolli LOL at you, thats all, no further comment!

  • the best song from the album is "I FEEL LIKE A WOG"

  • the only punk band that could actually write and play

  • @TheZanipolo What about the Clash?

  • @TheZanipolo That's why I've always loved this band (especially their

first two albums.) They somehow managed to combine a punkish

attitude with excellent musicianship and songwriting.

  • great song even better live :)

  • reminds me of ashes to ashes series 3 when they chase that guy into the blue peter garden!

  • listen to the base. JJ the best everrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • @koalaofdeath No, you be quiet, Koala, you little gay bear, ha ha.

  • made of win.

  • @koalaofdeath

if your 15 years old you have no say in the matter of "taste in music"

your mind is to easy to corrupt at that point ......

  • @ezoth

iam 16....iam a music producer nd ive made more music than yuv heard so fuck off with yur bullshit sayn e has no say....hes probly got a better taste for music dan half the dicks who comented n dis video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • the keyboard is badass

  • Liam Trotski?

  • @NedsMissingTeeth Leon Trosky was ruining against Stalin for run of Russia, basically.

  • @NedsMissingTeeth Leon Trotsky. Early communist Russian. Believe Stalin had him killed

  • @aliencheesemaker

Stalin did indeed have him assassinated in Mexico. Stalin tried to eliminate any other communist who might rival himself in popularity. He tried in vain to get his hands on Tito in Yugoslavia as well.

  • @LTF6161 yes, it's true Stalin assassinated Trotsky when wwii was over, he also had lenin poisoned back in the 1920's. Stalin had a fake letter purported to be from Lenin making Stalin his successor. Trotsky knew it was a fake but had no proof. hence, the tradition of conflict between the stalinists & trotskites. They all pieces of shit anyway but very relevant to our present day political necrosis.

  • What happened to good music?

  • The intro on guitar at the start? That was played by JJ Burnel on BASS! Bloody quick i'll tell you that.

  • @mattsgp yeah you are right JJ has been my punk bass heroe for decades

  • When I was in high school (maaaany years ago) some of the teachers had their own rock band that would perform at special events, and they used to play this song. Was the first time I heard it, and I fell in love with it straight away. Great song, great band.

  • I got introduced to this song and subsequently the band due to the video game also titled no more heroes. XD

  • Great Video, better than watching it on TOTP,back in the day........

  • texas rules and this song rules just as hard!

  • A bloody fantastic tune. AAAAA++++

  • Heroes suck.

  • While agree with you that everyone has different tastes and we should respect that, maybe cause you are 15, you are very naive about the music business. I live in Manhattan and many of my friends are execs in the music industry. There is tons of music produced that is real shit agreed upon in conference rooms by managers, not by artists. First they decide the concept, than they find a "singer" or "band" with the right look and attitude for the concept, than someone writes the music and lyrics

  • desde la disco osiris 1 madrid españa youtube...la honorable sociedad

  • I'm pretty sure it isn't 'Whatever happened to dear old Lenin?' but 'Whatever happened to dear old Lenny?' (and it's believed to be referring to Lenny Bruce). However of course there is a deliberate ambiguity there, as the last cited 'hero' was Trotsky and Lenny and Lenin sound alike.

  • I love shit like this, when I just randomly surf YouTube or something, and I find something that explains a joke. Thank you, Ben Croshaw, for furthering my Swiss Moments more than I'd ever like.

they need to find a way to put this song in the next No More Heroes game

  • @striderkiwi2 interestingly enough, Suda wanted to put the song in the game, but because of rights expense, it never happened... :(

  • NO MOre Heroes Anymore! Musical Genious!

  • its all about that intro

  • Hilarious when you juxtapose this with the Heroes show.

  • HEROES is canceled by NBC!

  • This sounds a bit like Strawberry Alarm Clock - Incense and Peppermints.

  • <3 XD

  • God I love this song.

Never did get that cliche about hating your parents' record collections. How could anyone of my generation? Our parents' record collections flippin' ROCK!

  • This should have been in the game.

  • I agree with Koalaofdeath, grow up and stop having arguements over the internet. I wonder why you are even watching this video if all you want to do is criticise it.

  • @toonboy616 A song from the 70's rips off a song from the 90's... That's interesting. I'm guessing you must also think The Police ripped off Puff Daddy and Queen totally ripped off Vanilla Ice right?

  • @toonboy616 That actually made me laugh out loud

  • jfnvjdneri4jt8ey4bfu7dysg4h68rheh48thfyd674gb3g3gun9h89rbufbjih89ji94tnij9y89rh93ynq5jh

  • @koalaofdeath... you obviously never felt the passion at the time of this tracks release. thats not a critisim of you, just a generation gap thing. i rocked on the stranglers at the time, but still loved music from the 60's and even the 50's...calm down bud!

  • im 20 years old and my dad got me listening to the stranglers. im into rap and hip hop music mainly. but i got love for the stranglers man. who cares what type of music u listen 2 what clothes you wear. you stereotyping saddos. get a life

  • @koalaofdeath Good Lord, how good it must feel to have a platform where you can swear in upper case at the tender age of 15. I imagine when you have shrugged off the ravages of puberty you will be a valued member of society.

  • 1977... 16 years old ... the stranglers... doesn't get any better.... pity the kids today.... nothing for them to believe in...

  • 1!958 your right this band was Good,Im 52 and still listening to them.

  • @Herblay63

hey im 13 ad i lisen to this stuff so not all kids are horrible ok!

  • be quie! he doesn't say:"kids are horrible", but, it's pity for the kids! (concerning music sound actually). It's a big difference/ but many of us listen at 13y olds "the doors" for exemple, and desesperated not to see them (because we were too young). It's good if "the stranglers" come back!good for everybody! for the oldiers like us, and for the youngest too!...cause there is nothing in music actually:just: the fall, suicide(alan vega), and the great Nick cave/They still alive!

  • @Herblay63 i know. everyone in my school is a sheep. just following eachother cuz theyre too scared to have their own views! its all just pathetic. this song is relavant even now. NO MORE HEROES!!

  • @rhysjenks

  • seen them in aberdeen last week, best concert been to in ages ,going to london on the 19th march to see them in the apollo !!!!

  • It's too bad half of the Strangler's songs are complete shit, because the other half are pure genius, this being one of the latter.

  • it's not easy to create genius. they're a good band and have at least 10 gems to their credit. The glass is half full.

  • No more heroes any more.HOW TRUE IS THAT!!!! IF you can name one....who is it??
