I hope everyone votes for LIBERTY on November 2nd! Vote for liberty, justice, and individual rights! Vote for capitalism and libertarianism! Do NOT vote for evil Welfare Statism via the lowlife, nitwit Republicans or Democrats!!
spazam123 i sort of agree what you say about libertarians but @ the end of the day rights is what it comes down to instead of government deciding what wrong and right for us when they should be focusing on the critical issues instead of your taxes coming back to bite you in the ass with traffic fines
@theclownslaugh Yeah I wanna eat and talk on the phone any time I want. If I rear-end you in your new car, fuck off. My desire to eat and talk while driving over-rides your need to have an undented car ANY DAY.
@taoofmichael you got the first part right. The second part is patently false. If they damage your property, whether its your car or your body or your family's bodies.. then they can face litigation. Until then they are doing nothing wrong, nor should it be wrong or made illegal. There are already distracted driver and reckless driver laws on the books without more laws and expanded government.
My friend started a band called "The Libertarians." They are a Libertarian rock band. They sound kind of like Minor Threat, Black Flag, and Dead Kennedys. Everyone in the band, except for the singer, aren't "smart" when it comes to politics but they do know where they stand politically. They smoke pot and carry guns too. The singer is the one who knows politics, can debate it, and writes the lyrical material for the band. He doesn't smoke pot or carry guns but thinks we should have the right.
True, I'm surprised a libertarian was given ANY air time. OTOH, I think the libertarian party needs to pick its battles with care. Most people will support punishing lousy drivers with higher fines. Of course, lousy drivers basically ARE distracted and oblivious to their surroundings. I say shoot them all....j/k.
The media tends to only focus on Republicans and Democrats. I think that's a major reason why people keep voting for those parties. It's unfair coverage. Like this presidential election. They only talk about McCain and Obama. Don't they know other people are running for president too?
Very true. The former leader of the Canadian Libertarian Party (who I was glad to see go) made seat belt law a big focus of his. Now, while I didn't disagree with him, putting so much focus on something like that makes the party look less than serious.
The leaders of our Libertarian parties really need to focus on the most critical issues. That said, still cool to see them giving a Libertarian airtime.
... people should drive like they would want their own personal professional driver to drive for them, you are your own professional driver. Your entire future quality of life depends on every second behind the wheel, vehicles do malfunction more often than you think, and you can't rely on other drivers to follow the law and drive perfectly because 90% of the drivers out there don't. They all drive like idiots, you have to protect yourself.

Yes, people should be responsible about driving. No, the government should not be telling me how to live my life.

I'm surprised the media even interviewed the Libertarian.
Normally they pretend we don't exist.
