Extremely powerful video. I plan to use it in my psychology class presentation about PTSD. I searched through many many videos and this one will work very very well. Thanks for posting it.
@321BookLover I did use it...it was very very powerful. You could hear a pin drop in the classroom as I played this video. I think that it speaks volumes to the power and effect of PTSD. If I ever do another presentation on this subject, I will likely use this video again. Good luck on your presentation.
@shyguyforlife I hope that you have seen a doctor or something. I have been diagnose with ptsd for years. I'm still on medication and hoping to find some sort of affordable therapy for this mess. You are not alone...
I suffer from this on a medium scale, sometimes I fight it(my mind) since I know it plays tricks on me. I've seen worse cases on 2 buddies of mine. What happens to me is that I go to bed but I can't go to sleep until a few hours after, I try working out etc to finally go to sleep and when im out in the streets sometimes I start to get paranoia as if insurgents will pop out from windows at any time.
@weresmypants1 iv never been to war but i have ptsd and its hell, if you start to become numb and full of rage get help immediately, if not treated quickly ptsd can be devastating.
I suffer Post Traumatic Stress. Why? In the late 50's the CIA had a secret brainwash program code named MKULtra. They paid a Dr Cameron in montreal to carry it out. He injected LSD mixed with other drugs, massive electric shocks and weeks of sleep as a brainwash tape played. I am telling my story on YOu Tube called youkilledyourmother
thats exactly how i have it, instead its all about how my wife left me and stoled my money and took my kids, got me evicted wich lead me to be homeless and starving in the fuckin streets. all i had was a back pack with a lil clothes. and wondered from central tex to los angeles, i started a new life there and now i have a house, 2002 chevy impala, 500 channels, high speed internet, tons of black metal band t shirts and my kids. i worked from nothing to having everything again! thank u god thanks
I would be a better idea to link to a video that actually offers some resources or something. This is just self serving YouTube stuff. The lengths people go to get noticed these days.
i went to my therapist for ptsd i still have reoccuring nightmares and i feel bad for not being by my girlfriends side more often becuase i just want to be alone at times.
great video i have ptsd also before i was diagnosed with it i was afraid i had attempted to kill myself as i thought i was insane i thought i was the only one that had this happening to them im only just starting therapy and everything for it but it feels good to know im not alone out here if anyone has any great ways of making things a bit easier please sent me a message i would apreciate it alot
Guys, if you are dealing with this please get help. I am trying to help my daughter face tomorrow each day because her sweetheart had served in Iraq and Afganistan and he didn't get help and now his loved ones are left with an emptiness that cannot be made better.I am praying for each and everyone of you to please get help so that you can heal. God Bless each and everyone of you for what you have been through. I speak on behalf of my daughter who will never be the same for this loss.
But it's not just the images, hmm. With your emotions cut off, and not having access to a bunch of your memories because they're too painful, your own reactions make no sense to you, and you feel you're overreacting.
I had a near death experience at work... was inside a machine cleaning at shift change, my colleagues didn't see me, so they closed the safety door behind me and put the machine in go mode.
It had no material to work with, so I could run to the door, knock on it and get let out... but damage was done apparently o.O
i am going through post traumatic stress right now and it sure does suck especially when ya have expiereinced every thing on the list and it is making your life nuts , the flash backs are the worst, and the counsler not showing up as they should sucks too when ya want to work through it so bad to move on with yoru life, i am not giving up and it will get delt with i might have to use you tube as a means to deal with it , good video people need to know it is not only war soldiers that have this
I was diagnosed with PTSD at the age of 38. I was placed in an abusive foster home at the age of 5. I was adopted at 7 and thought everything was fine. One event triggered PTSD, I had no idea I had it. If you don't have a way to get help, keep a journal, it works. I am healthy again and love my life.
My God, if I could have given this one 10 stars I would have! Awesome look at what our active military and veterans go through. They need to be listened to, not ignored and put in a mile long line of others that have also been ignored. Thank you for sharing.
This film shows how I felt everyday reliving events that I had totally blocked out. how does that happen? It's very frightening and the thought of taking your life is a bi-product of PTSD. GOOD POST< BUT JUST DON'T ACT OUT ON YOUR THOUGHTS! It helprd me to keep the gun out of sight. Time is a good healer, one day at a time.
I have PTSD as a result of seeing my mother die day by day from cancer. I am completely fucked as a result. And this video is pretty spot on, i agree.
i suffer from post traumatic stress disorder because i was abused in my childhood very badly, this video although about being traumatised over something very different is a spot on portrayal of what flashbacks are like and how much ptsd consumes your life
My father did that , not a day goes by that I dont need his advice or need a hug from my father R.A.Willis woc 3 1st air cav 1946-11/11/81 the day the Vietnam memorial was dedicated
You can help. Every $10 donation to a raffle (win $50K) allows us to train service dogs for these men and women. Think about it? helpkyriadotcom
