i ride a motorcycle and my pillion has a camera so watch out drivers. we just LOVE taking pictures of mobile phone drivers, we send the pictures to the police with excellent results. So remember people, a picture can save many lives. just make sure its the passenger taking it or your have a camera fitted somewhere. :0D

He was unconscious and the doors jammed, his car burned up with him inside of it.:( Distracted driving is dangerous!

Much has been made of the use of mobile,(cell),phones here in the UK & it's been made illegal to text/talk on your mobile-phone whilst driving.Hands-free is fine. But it absolutely PISSES me off when drivers do this.It has been proven that performing any task which diverts your attention from the road is 'suicidal',but some drivers simply refuse to concede this,until it's too late,& then they'd probably blame the other driver in the event they were involved in an RTA! JUST DON'T DO IT!

Texting while driving is against the law where I live, but everybody still does it without getting caught. I'm totally against it, but I sometimes text other people without knowing they're driving until they text me back telling me they're driving. I immediately recite the law and stop texting them after that. But I just know that isn't stopping anyone.
@metamorphicmuse its a second degree felony so the only way someone can get a ticket for it is if they are pulled over for a first degree felony like a broken tail light, no seatbelt, talking on the phone, and things of that nature are second degree felonies
@BunyWithAGun : Texting while driving is only a Class C infraction in my state, unless it causes a traffic accident resulting in vehicular reckless homicide. Then it becomes a Class C felony. I guess it varies from state to state.

My mom was driving & once she took out her cell phone and starting looking at it and I freaked out I started screaming "PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING!!!!" He drives a manual car, and he has a phone that has a qwerty keypad, so when he texts, he needs both hands. Which means his hands are neither on the steering wheel or on the gear shift. Every single person on the road has done dangerous things while driving weather it be speed, check there phone, not put there blinker on, or 4get to give way. Its just life. Being on your phone while driving is no different to driving 5kms over the speed limit. You cound run over somebody going 5kms over the speed limit but if you were going 20kms over you would have pasted them b4 they walked out.....
@noopa05 Actually, since both society and law generally agree that drinking and driving deserves removal of one's right to drive and science proves texting while driving is even worse the drunk driving, you reach a simple conclusion. Nothing on your phone is important enough to justify putting people in danger and I fully support legal action against those who would do so. When lives are taken because someone thought they're exempt from the rules, people have the right to be a little miffed.

And your right, people do speed on occasion when they are in a rush. I'm certain many a flaming corpse was 5 minutes away from being late to work. Justifying speeding because a lot of people do it is like saying if everyone has a gun, then no one will get shot. Getting back on topic, texting while driving is far more dangerous than 5 kms over the limit.

@metamorphicmuse its a second degree felony so the only way someone can get a ticket for it is if they are pulled over for a first degree felony like a broken tail light, no seatbelt, talking on the phone, and things of that nature are second degree felonies

@BunyWithAGun : Texting while driving is only a Class C infraction in my state, unless it causes a traffic accident resulting in vehicular reckless homicide. Then it becomes a Class C felony. I guess it varies from state to state.

I text while driving, but not like the way you were. I am a good multi tasker. I eat while driving, I do math while driving on my armrest. I have actually changed my full wardrobe while driving. I think that I am successful because of how seriously I take my driving. I focus on EVERYTHING around me ALL the time. And for those of you who are gonna say, "oh it'll catch up with you one day." Hindsight bitches. I am hypocritical though because I will yell at OTHER people who are doing it.

My mom was driving & once she took out her cell phone and starting looking at it and I freaked out I started screaming "PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING!!!!" I don't want to be killed in a car accident because somebody else can't wait 2 minutes to reply back to somebody saying "Hey what's up?" I don't know about you, but I don't think it's worth it. It makes me so mad when I look over and see people next to me texting while driving. It's called COMMON SENSE. Many people seem to lack it.

my boyfriend texts while he's driving. I take the phone from him and put it in the glove box. He drives a manual car, and he has a phone that has a qwerty keypad, so when he texts, he needs both hands. Which means his hands are neither on the steering wheel or on the gear shift. So I think it's safer when I drive lol

Agree, testing isn't only dangerous it's killing normal social interaction in-between people. Say someone is angry with someone, they won't talk face to face they will act nice to the person then five minutes later go text them about it, it's stupid to hide behind a cell phone and not show your emotions.

nothing annoys me more than people complaining about this (but im still a huge fan Zack!). Every single person on the road has done dangerous things while driving weather it be speed, check there phone, not put there blinker on, or 4get to give way. Its just life. Being on your phone while driving is no different to driving 5kms over the speed limit. You cound run over somebody going 5kms over the speed limit but if you were going 20kms over you would have pasted them b4 they walked out.....

@noopa05 Actually, since both society and law generally agree that drinking and driving deserves removal of one's right to drive and science proves texting while driving is even worse the drunk driving, you reach a simple conclusion. Nothing on your phone is important enough to justify putting people in danger and I fully support legal action against those who would do so. When lives are taken because someone thought they're exempt from the rules, people have the right to be a little miffed.

@noopa05 Yes, science does tell us that, and so do the police reports, and the crash surveys, and the families of dead crash victims. And your right, people do speed on occasion when they are in a rush. I'm certain many a flaming corpse was 5 minutes away from being late to work. Justifying speeding because a lot of people do it is like saying if everyone has a gun, then no one will get shot. Getting back on topic, texting while driving is far more dangerous than 5 kms over the limit.
