  • AWESOME! First time seeing this and I loved the whole series! Thanks for the upload!

  • I have tears in my eyes. I was watching this fantastic series over 20 years ago as a small kid. Acting, music, scenery - they were all just outstanding. Thanks a million asiwal.

  • @dyfly My pleasure.

  • in the words of bentley the turtle, "that sneaky devil......"

  • This was BRILLIANT! I had never seen this before, took me 2 days to watch every piece of it. Thanks so much for uploading it. :)

  • @Amynn1993 Hey sorry for the late reply. But I'm glad u enjoyed it. For me it was well worth the effort to know that folks are enjoying my the most favorite TV series ever.

  • tnx to give back the chilhood..... long john silver gone but never forget

  • I just spent most of the day watching this magnificent series. 2am now. Time for bed me hearties!!!!! Hahahahahahaha.

  • picture quality was poor, but that was one of the most entertaining bits I have ever seen.

  • Thank you for the walk down memory lane! My mom taped this for me when I was a kid and I still have the VHS tapes. They are so worn out! I hope this gets released for region 1 someday soon!

  • John Silver! Bless him! Bless him to the angels above!

I knew right as he was rowing away, he had something hiding. I can never stop laughing with joy from such a wonderful ending to the series. Brian Blessed did a wonderful job. Praise him for his skills of acting. Of course, no one plays Long John as Robert Newton did, but Brian Blessed is high on the top five John Silvers of my list now.

  • Thank you, asiwal, for helping experience my childhood again. 1986 was a great year. How did you come across the miniseries? I have been dying to aquire it for my own collection.

  • @FirstOfficerNCC8912 I have it on DVD. You can get it from Amazon now. Just make sure you have a compatible DVD player. I think it's still only available in region 2.

  • People seem to have question about Silver's acquisition of the treasure. This text from the novel explains how. "What followed next I have never to this day been able to piece together into a coherent narrative. I know that I fired all four barrels of my two pistols and I think I accounted for three, at least, of Hallows's men. I know that I was struck down by a tremendous blow from Gaynes. I know that, in all the smoke and pandemonium, Silver was dragging the treasure-chest away into the trees."

  • @asiwal there's a novel?

  • @zakfett92 sure there is. You may still find a copy on ebay.

  • Can anybody explain when did Silver menage to steal the treasure? A moment before Hallows and the other guy get into the boat, they open the casket and the treasure is there alright

  • @radaphhesig Silver took what he could of the gems when he was dragging the chest away from the fight right before Hallows stopped him.

  • Fantastic !

Probably the coolest series ever. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it !

Thank you so much for posting it for us.

  • Thank you for putting this up for all to see, it is much appreciated!

  • Thank Asiwal!

What a great series and Brian Blessed is best! No one could have done this better,

    Best wishes!

  • That was well worth the time :) Thanks for the upload!!!!!!!

  • Well now, I made it my promise to see this to its end, piece by piece and it was a pleasure. An excellent production. Thank you Asiwal for the posting. It's been a long time since I saw it in the 80's.

  • how by the powers did Long John get the stones when they were in the chest? which blew up i might add :S

  • I have asked myself that when I first saw this, WAY back as a kid. After this last viewing, though, I'll call to your attention the fact that Long John had the chest for himself for, at least, several minutes before being caught by Hallows... I would imagine he dipped in for some "insurance".

  • @alpachino1991 It was he who grabbed the chest and dragged it away from the fight. Obvious he took what he could before Hallows got to him.

  • Good memories, eh John Silver is a legend of my childhood.

    Thank you ASIWAL.
