John Boehner was right on in this speech. No matter what tea partiers believe. We had to act to make sure that the major banks didn't fail and that we wouldn't have so many people lose their pensions. Not doing so would have led to the economy complete croaking.

Do you realize that the top two recipients of the AIG bailout were foreign banks Societe Generale and Deutsche Bank followed by Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. TO COVER CREDIT DEFAULT SWAPS. Do you even know what a credit default swap is?

I am as conservative as any of you. But can any of you honestly tell me the benefits of letting all the major banks in America fail at once? I din't think so. TARP cost about $100 billion and it saved us from another great depression. So don't pull this RINO crap.

@PizzaPizza33 Oh boy, how wrong you are. Benefits of letting major banks fail stops credit expansion, endless borrowing and most importantly corruption. These major banks were sitting on trillions of bad debt, guess what happened to that bad debt? Still on the books, covered up by TARP and Bernankes QE. Our banking system is even more fragile than it is today, but at great cost. TARP was mismanaged with billions lost in theft. AIG still owes billions as do the car companies.

The USA needs more health care reform. Dependance on banks that sell debt and a stock market that saps wealth off the backs of the working class is why what needs to be fixed can never be fixed. The system needs to be scrapped.
