It's not "laminated cardboard" - it's called coroplast and it's built just like cardboard but plastic. Very fun stuff. If you cut and bend it just right you can make single piece flying wings and with a fairly cheap 3 channel setup you can have your own radio controlled plane. Here is an example although I don't know this guy. I make all my wings from EPP foam. Check it out though it's very fun - combat wings.

@GreekGadgetGuru because compressed gasses came from airesol sprays, and the first aieisol spray wasn't successfully invented untill the 1920s, concepts for them though go back as far as the 1700s. Ezzio's part of the story goes back to the 1500s, so if you want to be more authentic to the game you might want to go with a spring loaded bolt action device which they did have back then.
