Thank you for making this educational video to help dispel the assumptions by fear mongers and neophytes that commuting on two wheels in the presence of vehicular traffic is not as dangerous as the media would have you think. I live in Washington DC, and I've been commuting on bike for a few years. Plenty of bike lanes, but there are times where I have to negotiate sharing the street with vehicular traffic. Anyone can do this with a little practice, common sense, and a dependable bike.
@sikofu2 MA State Law requires the Right of Way to be given to pedestrians.
But her action was dangerous to herself since:
1. she get into the intersection after the SUV entered the intersection. If the SUV didn not brake, she would have been struck.
2. a left-turning vehicle from the opposite side of the street might have ran her over ("left-hook" style). Her sight line of that lane was blocked by the SUV she was negotiating with.
@frederickchim I wouldn't call her suicidal. I'm a firm believer that pedestrians, bikers, and motor bikers like myself need to remind 4 wheelers of their obligations. For too long pedestrians and bike riders have allowed cars and trucks to ignore the privileges they should have because a car is bigger. Calling this lady suicidal is like saying you asked to be robbed since you forgot to lock your door.
Wow did not expect this video to have so much great advice.. thankyou

Great Vid just shows all you need is a little common sense and some practice and riding in the city is a cinch.

Boston doesn't give right of way to pedestrians at a cross walk? If so then that chick is suicidal if not then it's all good isn't it.
