  • Can we buy this version on iTunes? Its better than the original. yes it is! stop arguing with me already!

  • Love.. it.. good thinking.. grab Machine :)

  • I love how girls are so easily replaced my machines...

  • This is what I call Rock n'roll!

  • Stephen Hawking! 3:20

  • anyone else notice that the guitarist starts playing From The Sea at 3:36? Very clever!!!

  • What a crap version of the real one. Sounds worst harmonies, very tired sounding voices, main singer is straining to hit a note that's not really high. The Kimbra part was butchered and terrible. Not to say i dont like eski joe, just a very unnecessary amount of studio gone to waste in making a very bad cover.

  • @sn3nimph are you smoking crack or something?

  • @username1995ty Dude its a pathetic attempt, 5th harmonies sound gross for this sort of song, the other singer should be singing 3rd's for the pleasant sound, his harmonies aren't on key either. Singer is actually off key in some parts, not to mention they butchered the Kimbra part for a slightly funny joke. The higher notes of the chorus are crackly and strained its can be heard quite obviously. I'm not on crack just making a fair judgment of how much they crapped on the original.

  • @sn3nimph you cover the song, and ill tell you how bad it is. the whole point of a cover is to show other peoples versions and opinions of that song, chill. if you dont like it, you dont have to listen to it.

  • @username1995ty Have to listen before sayin' what you feel about it? No?

Anyway, this song doesn't fit this singer. True story.

  • @sn3nimph I actually really like the choice of 5th harmonies. Separately, I also like the computer voice. It would be butchered by many singers trying to copy Kimbra. I don't like it as much as the original, but I still prefer it to most of Kimbra's other stuff (as an example).

  • @Maverician Fair enough man, the 5th harmonies aren't my cup of tea. I dont particularly enjoy Kimbra's music either its a bit strange and overly artistic and theatrical. But some people like it so i dont know. She's got talent just yeah i think eski could have seriously picked up their game on this cover, it hasn't got much too it.

  • rock version of gotye :P.. nice

  • haha~ funny way that computer sings.

  • If you replay it enough you honestly tune out Fred's voice. It is one of my favroite Eskimo Joe covers. And honestly who cares if they took the piss with this proformance, They sound better live (and so does Fred) than half of the popular live acts today!

  • Cool guys , looks like you had fun doing that , wow a working apple Mac i remember having one back in 1989 and that apple paint program took 16 3,1/4 inch disks to load it sucked, 4 homework,

cool you have made use of that dino great cover

  • im sorry, all i hear is a now irrelevant band trying to cash in on someone else's success. i usually dig like a version because the covers arent carbon copies but this was just stupid;

  • @DjTokenMusic Screw off, don't see you making music. Great interpretation to an already great song, from a GREAT band

  • I doesn`t like it

  • the computer's a much better singer.

  • wow, the computer part is sooooo stupid !!!!

  • @taoop4 I loved the computer part. Especially for such an old computer too! xD

  • Love this version, too!

I like them singing anyway !

'Setting Sun' was the first song I heard, and immediately I purchased the CD!

  • MS Paint for the win!

  • chujnia

  • Better than original I reckon

  • Dreadfull !. Can't do a cover if you have no talent and can't even sing in tune ! . My dog farting is more tunefull than this. :(

  • @pete246 Thats why they are in a famous band, and you're not

  • @MrWiseburger yeh but at least I have something in common with them, I can't sing either !

  • wow ;)

  • This sounded great??

  • @SCREAMorphine I don't think..

  • Prefer this over the original soooo much more

  • Sucked HARD!

  • Effin' BOOM!!!!! :)

  • 2:40!!!:)

    Świetnie!

  • talk about ruining a song

  • 3:07 why is ashton kutcher playing guitar XD

  • Meh. Not a patch on the original or on the Walk Off The Earth cover. And if you have to lower the key THAT FAR to sing it, you shouldn't sing it.

  • Lol. Old ass computer

  • BIGGEST LEGENDS

  • Mike too close to the mouth, otherwise I like it

  • BOOO! Eskimo Joe are good in their own right but just NO!

  • @florianN33 yeah i know this cover and i love it, the guitar playing is awesome and they sing great, too, but in the original one it's so magic, i just love the way gotye sing this song and how he brings his feeling over (i hope you understand what i mean, my english isn't really the best)

  • @josh check walk of the earth better than original i guess

  • no one can sing it as great as the original is.

  • @WithYourBubblyFace excpet for fred

  • @WithYourBubblyFace I think ist is better then the original: youtube.com/watch?v=d9NF2edxy-M

  • Not even close to the original... Srry but this is a NO

  • yeeeeaaaaaaaa!!!! like it! very kurwa! :)

  • I love it!!!

  • the main vocalist sucks!!

  • @youssy86 I guess you can't appreciate those with a unique sound.

  • Wow that`s good....!

  • One of the greatest covers I have ever heard. Even without Fred, it would still be one of my favourites.

  • I actually like this version better than the Gotye original :x

  • Fred stole the show :D I jizzed my pants when he started singing :P

  • truly great cover, i prefer this version. btw do these guys have a drummer?

  • nah!

  • gogo macintosh II... lol

  • I do not like

  • Ha ha...excellent cover...but that apple computer sound too much like Steven Hawkins for my liking..LMFAO.

  • original is way better !!!

  • such a great aussie band to me one of the best of the last decade

  • It starts 1:08

  • @icemanXcool thank you good guy Greg

  • @icemanXcool Thank you! :)

  • This Song was written for the Eskimo Joe ... and they cut it out of the list .... There Goes The Aria's Indeed!!

  • @Bad77Seed Are you serious? I thought it was written by Gotye? Why on earth would they turn down this song! Oh well Eskimo Joe are still one of the greatest Aussie bands!

  • I honestly love this version. The guys did a really, really good job :)

  • ok so I have waited this long to say.... Kav could sing anything he wanted to at anytime and it will always sound fucking awesome. Also Joel and Stu shred their strings well enough to make anyone else feel like amatuers... for goodness sake if you don't like what these guys do then don't listen to them.. honestly they ARE the epitomy of professionals... everything they do is superb and I will always support them... x

  • MICROSOFT SAM IS THE GREATEST

  • @RyelleBlitz - Microsoft Sam was released for Win 2k and XP. That was a 20 year old Apple Macintosh supposedly using PlainTalk... I have played with it on my old Mac Classic and it wasn't the greatest so I doubt they used the old Mac exclusively.

  • @Courtlat1986 derp. :| sometimes I just say things and really don't think them through. I was wondering how they got the timing; I didn't recall it allowing for pauses or anything.

  • @Courtlat1986 Yeah i think it may have been prerecorded so it was timed right

  • Computer makes it.

  • actually a really good cover, except for the computer part :/

  • Without a doubt one of the finest performances I have seen!!! Was always a fan, now very f'n convinced!!! Very cool!

  • i think this might have been better if they were a bit less serious the rest of the song, aside from when the computer spoke. they seemed to think it was a legit thing; it wasn't. if your gonna do a funny cover, make it funny.

  • Loved it, the pc chat was a giggle. As always Eskimo Joe comes up aces

  • ESKIMO NO!!

  • I would have rather they sang it all themselves :(

  • @seratonation yep, i agree. real good cover....then came the kimbra version!

  • DICKS!! Total opposite of Gotye and Kimbra. Childish dicks!!

  • AYYYYDRIANNN

  • What a major fucking shame.

  • @sourchocolatejuice3 I totally agree. That just made me die a bit on the inside. I'm a huge like a version fan and respect when they put their original spin on it, but they fucking butchered this, was a damn shame.

  • giving away (i7)core comp.. have a few spare. love your stuff eskimo but wtf.

  • Awesome- both Eskimo Joe and the computer!

  • @Daaanieeel123 here's hoping it launches Fred's solo career

  • Stephen Hawkins standing in for Kimbra. I didnt want to but i cracked up when it started "singing".

  • LOL at the smiley face on the computer

  • Lead singer looks like an extra from a James Dean movie :s

  • Omg this is amazing xD

  • Did i hear steven hawkings?

  • BAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

  • Thats not a computer, its a paper weight. :P

  • That lead guitar is haunting. It made my hair stand up, I loved it in every way!

  • Steven Hawking decided to join in the singing

  • killed it with windows 95 pc

  • the videos title needs to be changed to Eskimo Joe - Somebody that I used to know (feat. Steven Hawking) :)

  • well it was amazing until the computer's part... definitely could have done without that

  • @mrbouncelol Its meant to be funny mate

  • I want to see the computer rap!

  • this is terrible. i like eskimo joe, but they fucked this song up

  • That computer isn't from the 1980's, it's from the mid 1970's. I remember it was the first computer that my school got. It was meant to educate us. We ended up playing a moon lander game on it all the time.

  • @SauronsEye dude that's a Macintosh - first produced in 1984.

  • nice fucking hair you faggots.

  • @TheDive99 no, just no

  • @chasjade1 elaborate.

  • Brilliant...all the wanna bes should get a sense of humour...

  • The computer is better than the gutarist singing harmony.

  • Eskimo Joe can go fuck themselves, and probably do. ever since sweater its been DOWN hill! YOUR FUCKED, your smarmy and you think your clever- your not.stop ripping off of bands mellodies too, really weak .

  • @mightyfingaz nice use of the word smarmy, genius. By the way, it's "melodies".

  • @mightyfingaz shh just shh

  • @ChippyAintNoHippy they uploaded they're performance so it's open to all opinion, positive and negative. I personally think it was shithouse. I think they are woeful in general, and - 10 yrs on and they're musics getting worse.can you say their last album was good?from using samples of indian instruments to writing a song about Heath Ledgars death - can you get any more try hard. but by all means buy their cd's you fucking clown. SSSHHHHHH!

  • @mightyfingaz well if your gunna be so uptight about this...

  • @mightyfingaz "from using samples of indian instruments to writing a song about Heath Ledgars death," both of which are from the same song. Drawing from recent tragedy isn't even anything new, look at American Pie which was based on a plane crash on which several musicians perished. And while I didnt really even like Foreign land either, at least they were trying something new, which pays off more often than not in my opinion.

  • @upsidedownfish and did they're attempt at writing a new club song for the freo dockers payoff? Fuck NOOOO!!!!!

  • Some of you people need to grow a sense of humour geeezzzz...

  • No no no no no no , this is all wrong....

  • Wonderful!

  • this is kinda shet house

  • Eskimo Joe - Somebody That I Used To Know (Gotye Cover) ft Steven Hawking*

  • Fing butchered a really good song

  • The computer made it look like a mockery of the original. The original version by Gotye is way better (plus I may be biased because I have never liked any of Eskimo Joe's songs) - Wally just puts so much emotion into it, plus he can hit those high notes.

  • : ))

  • I like The computer ... Mac. (1990)

  • awesome cover

  • is this Eskimoe joe or is it K.D Lang

  • It's funny....computer voices typically have no emotion...but through using it in song, emotion was added? Yeeeeeh I'm confused.

  • Addictive and soooo sexy ; D

  • pretty good guys

  • love the lead guitarist 's voice !

  • how did they not start laughing when that computer started it's section of the song!

  • Thumbs up if you pee in the shower

  • "There go the ARIAs."

  • Give the computer some credit, it sings better than just bieber !

  • @Punxam to be honest, bieber jokes are getting a bit tiresome now

  • @littlejoe9999

I'm not here to satisfy you kid, go home

  • @Punxam yes, but how hard it that??

  • Fred makes this song amazing.

  • damn it hawking!

  • LOL COMPUTER

  • his facials are fucked.

  • @marshjizz Sadly its true :P

  • haha the computer rocks - i used to that on my ibm

  • God, Kimbra must feel pretty insignificant now, replaced by an 80's computer

  • Awesome stuff!!!!

  • Eskimoe Joe feat. Stephen Hawking?

  • Computer has great rhythm LOL xxxx

  • love serious they keep their faces!! lol <3

  • LIKE IF YOU PISSED YOURSELF LAUGHING WHEN THE COMPUTER STARTED SINGING XD

  • @100volt1 not gonna laugh now i read that..

  • @TheBravoe ....and not a single fuck was given.

  • @100volt1 this is FUCKEN brilliant go joe!!!

  • I reckon they put shame on this song cause they have almost no build ups what so ever

  • @bailey98781 neither does the original.

  • @SuperCleboy thats bullcrap yes it does

  • the computer part is absolutely hilarious!

  • You know what - fair enough they used a computer for Kimbras part. They realised they couldn't do Kimbra's part any justice - so they went the total opposite.

  • The harmonic at 3:20 is awesome!

  • love u fred!!!!!!!!! tip: make your own band fred and dont feel nervous when u sing in the triple j studios.. live a good life fred

  • WHATEVER, COMPUTER ROX

  • 1:08 for the start of the song

  • All this butthurt over a talking computer. It's not there for very long. Take that away and it's a pretty great cover.

  • Vomit.
