Notice her theme before Cloud fighting the real Sephiroth and the hand reaching out to Cloud after that, I think it's indeed her returning. And her image in the lifestream near the end...

You have a big confrontation with the two ultimate spell and the planet comes in the end to save itself by unleashing the power of life... What more do you ask? People wanted to see character go back with their family and show how happy they were...wtf...It would have destroy the epicness of the ending. The story needed to end in a peak. ( like most awesome story )
i hear people complain about this ending for not having enough closure but i dont think people realize storyline were finished thoughout the game. clouds true past is reveal, cloud and tifa hook up, cid goes to space, vincents backstory is revealed if you do a little exploration, yuffie gets the acceptance of her father, the weapons are defeated and shinra is taken down (fav portion of the game btw, freakin epic) and all thats really left is to defeat sephiroth and meteor...which happens!

@daveeol1987 Sephiroth wasn't "doing nothing" inside the planet. He was the one that prevented Holy from activating even after the White Materia had answered to Aerith's prayer. The party had to go inside the Planet and kill Sephiroth so that Holy could stop Meteor. Yes, the story is all over the place, but thanks to that, more FF7 related games were released.
@daveeol1987 I like FF7 because it was the 1st FF game I've ever played, it is still my favorite FF followed by FF8 and 9, but liking it is one thing and admitting its weaknesses is another.

Bought this from the PS Store and finished it like 2 days ago. Although the whole experience was kind of ruined in a sense because I had found out pretty much what happened for the entire story and I'm older now (in comparison to playing FF8,9, 10 when I was younger) this was such an amazing game. 08:34 ... absolute shivers.....

I feel privileged to have been able to play this when it came out, esp as a teenager. Shit me did it blow my head off! And to think the "game that sold the playstation" was full of spirituality/ religous stuff and made the gamer read..... man how times have changed!
@wh4t3v4g3tsum exactly. all you have to do to make a game now is crouch behind a box while explosions are going off, lob a grenade and continue through a level that is just as linear as pitfall. As long as theirs a lot of military talk and nice gphx people wont realize they are playing the same game for the 11th time in the year. Its really sad to see such capable systems not reaching their potential due to lazy game designers.

I take it this is the PC version? I just replayed FFVII on my PS3 with original PS1 discs! Graphics are SO bad, but the game is SO epic. Would like to see a re-release for this as well, updated all around. So amazing. :)
@Stinso93 Seeing as they can use fire and summon Knights of the Round, is a one armed pullup really that inconceivable. There has to be some kind of materia that can make you that strong.
One of the big questions posed in the game was whether or not people would survive Holy being summoned. That Bughenen guy said it would wipe out everything that the planet saw as a threat and wondered if that would include humans after all the damage Shinra had done. The laughing kids showed that it didn't kill everyone off I think. What happened after the end was just speculation for a long time until Advent Children came out.
No remake just use same software but make the cutscenes ps3 quality and add trophys lots of them for special achievements . same composer character designer same plot master but new storyline maybe something like an envision of sephiroth's shinning new future hojos mad experiments and professor gast's history and if you wanna you furthermore ....the ancients make it revolve more about them add mystery and plenty of abstract excitement .

I liked the ambigious ending of FF7. Wondering whether or nor the human race survived. The heroes succeded in saving the planet as we see, and other life like Red XIII's species, but did the human race live on? It's never answered one way or another...until freakin' "Advent Children" flat out told everyone. Damn it, damn it, damn it!
On a video for FF7 you get a bunch of fanboys arguing amongst themselves, on an ocarina of time vid they are all at peace with the game being the best ever. The developers should have put more effort into the gameplay not the pretty cut scenes. I don't necessarily like running around for 30 hours as a polygon.

I think the meaning of this ending was to show that what we do in our lives, not matter how much we plan for our future, is done for the here and now. They saved the planet even though 500 years later, it would all become a lush landscape where a massive city had once been. Live for the here and now and don't think TOO much about the future, but plan for it accordingly.

Cloud did a one arm pull-up with an extremely heavy sword and an almost full-grown woman. Besides FFX's hold-your-breath-for-at-least-5-minutes-and-hit-the-ball-and-other-people blitzball, this is probably one of the most non-gameplay physically taxing scenes in the main series. Most peaple I know can barely do 2 full pullups.
Why is it best?. Because this game showed that Video Game Evolution was possible. Cause we wanted to believe in the fact that all life is connected. Cause we actually cared about our planet back then. Cause we knew through this game that corporate greed was going to ruin America and the world before anyone else did. Because this game proved that there was a Genre that you could rely on besides Platforming and First Person Shooters. Because this game signified the 1990's, the last great decade.

@TuhermanaProductions You might want them to wait until Xbox 720 come out because Xbox 360 sucks for a remake. FF7 remake needs a Blu-Ray to make a large world and Xbox 360 can't handle it. No one wants it to be like FFXIII.

I take it this is the PC version? I just replayed FFVII on my PS3 with original PS1 discs! Graphics are SO bad, but the game is SO epic. Would like to see a re-release for this as well, updated all around. So amazing. :)

One of the big questions posed in the game was whether or not people would survive Holy being summoned. That Bughenen guy said it would wipe out everything that the planet saw as a threat and wondered if that would include humans after all the damage Shinra had done. The laughing kids showed that it didn't kill everyone off I think. What happened after the end was just speculation for a long time until Advent Children came out.

No remake just use same software but make the cutscenes ps3 quality and add trophys lots of them for special achievements . same composer character designer same plot master but new storyline maybe something like an envision of sephiroth's shinning new future hojos mad experiments and professor gast's history and if you wanna you furthermore ....the ancients make it revolve more about them add mystery and plenty of abstract excitement .

I liked the ambigious ending of FF7. Wondering whether or nor the human race survived. The heroes succeded in saving the planet as we see, and other life like Red XIII's species, but did the human race live on? It's never answered one way or another...until freakin' "Advent Children" flat out told everyone. Damn it, damn it, damn it!

On a video for FF7 you get a bunch of fanboys arguing amongst themselves, on an ocarina of time vid they are all at peace with the game being the best ever. The developers should have put more effort into the gameplay not the pretty cut scenes. I don't necessarily like running around for 30 hours as a polygon.

I think the meaning of this ending was to show that what we do in our lives, not matter how much we plan for our future, is done for the here and now. They saved the planet even though 500 years later, it would all become a lush landscape where a massive city had once been. Live for the here and now and don't think TOO much about the future, but plan for it accordingly.

i believe she only stayed dead til sephiroth was killed at which point the lifestream revived her

Cloud did a one arm pull-up with an extremely heavy sword and an almost full-grown woman. Besides FFX's hold-your-breath-for-at-least-5-minutes-and-hit-the-ball-and-other-people blitzball, this is probably one of the most non-gameplay physically taxing scenes in the main series. Most peaple I know can barely do 2 full pullups.

Why is it best?. Because this game showed that Video Game Evolution was possible. Cause we wanted to believe in the fact that all life is connected. Cause we actually cared about our planet back then. Cause we knew through this game that corporate greed was going to ruin America and the world before anyone else did. Because this game proved that there was a Genre that you could rely on besides Platforming and First Person Shooters. Because this game signified the 1990's, the last great decade.
