And, the death penalty's existence in countries where it's still in use has led to the perversion of justice on a massive scale: innocent people confessing to murder just to escape the death penalty. Innocent people executed despite evidence of innocence.

There are so many things wrong with the death penalty, no system would ever be justified, unless of course your interest has nothing to do with justice & the prevention of murder.
