  • I'm American. Union means a joinder of parts. Separation can be messy as both American can British history can attest. Is the debate on this site for real?

  • March on the Colours!

  • England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, together forever!!! Long Live the Queen and the Union!

  • and another little point, why has Scotland, Ireland and Wales got a Nationalist party yet england hasn't? surely if we were a burden on your country some of you, at least, would want Independence, but no, because the truth is we have been subsidising you for years, we want rid of you, trust me, but you dont want rid of us, and Independence is not all about wealth, it's about taking your rightful place among the nations of the world, Scotland Forever and Nae Union.

  • @inverkenny The VAST majority of Scots want the union. Nuff said.

  • @spotswood4444 i like a guy with a sense of humour, God Bless Edward II.

  • makes you proud to be english, er scottish, er irish, er welsh, er what the fuck are you? wish england would stop clinging to everyone, why dont they just fuck off.

  • @inverkenny

What country was it that had the biggest empire in the world?

What country is the fifth largest country in the world?

What country was it that held alone for the Summer of 1940 against the might of Nazi Germany?

Which country has one of the most powerful currencies in the world? (Pound Sterling).

    The United Kingdom.

    United we stand

    Divided we fall.

If the Union fell apart, England and Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland would become minor European states again.

  • @inverkenny

England is the nucleus of Britain. I would have thought that the Scots, and the Welsh would have wanted to stay with the English, as England alone is a very rich and powerful nation, but the Scots and Welsh are nothing alone and would become insignificant, there are only 8 million Scots, and only 3 million Welsh. But there are 51 million English. Oh and the money that funded the search for North sea Oil was English, before you start. You need England, England doesn't need you.

  • @spotswood4444 We'll see who needs who when England no longer has Scotland and Wales to vampirise. The best units in the British Army have always been Celts (Black Watch, Scots Guards, Welsh Guards, Connaught Rangers, Scots Greys, Inniskillings (fusiliers), Inniskilling Dragoons etc etc).

Scottish and Welsh coal, oil and gas account for more than 99% of British fossil fuels, and the SNP is investing in renewable energy, so before you start, no, we don't need England.

  • @NapoleonCalland Scotland will never leave England, and neither will the Welsh. Oh and as for the best units of the British army being celts, there is something that you should know, all of the units that you mention are indeed celtic, except for one small thing, they are predominantly manned by English soldiers, with English officers. You mention Scottish and Welsh Coal, well the biggest coal reserves in the UK are under Yorkshire, and Nottinghamshire. And all oil and gas is English owned.

  • @spotswood4444 Scotland and Wales won't leave England because they're not part of it. As for "predominantly manned by English soldiers, with English officers.", why not "white officers" while you're at it? For the moment there is a state called the UK (of Great Britain and Northern Ireland), but as soon as it splits up we'll soon see whose territorial waters 98% of the oil and gas are in (ie Scotland). And as I said before, the SNP is investing in renewable energy, so we don't need England.

  • @NapoleonCalland Oh dear, yet another deluded individual. Hold on a minute while I educate you. Scotland will never leave the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and neither will Wales, because it is English tax payers that fund your countries. Scotland has only 8 million people so if only they pay tax for Scotland then you won't have enough cash, simple. And Wales only has 3 million people so they are in the same boat, you need the help of 50 million English, End of story.

  • @NapoleonCalland Scotland came to join England in the 1700's, because the country was bankrupt, and we have been keeping you afloat ever since. If England withdrew all of our ties with Scotland, then it would implode as there would be no infrastructure worth mentioning, in other words it would be like removing a chickens head, yes it will flap around for a short time, but it would ultimately die. Actually Scotland is a burden on the English tax payer, so you should be wanting to stay in the UK.

  • @inverkenny

    I agree, independence for England.

  • @inverkenny For your information all empires have a beginning and an end, and we in Britain, which includes Scotland and Wales etc, have had the worlds finest ever empire, it was the biggest and best and all other countries are jealous to death of it. Of course England is the major partner, due to it having 50 million people of the 61 million in Britain. Scotland alone would be a sorry insignificant dreary place, and without English tax payers, it would be Bankrupt, same as in 1700.

  • @spotswood4444 and for your information it was made bankrupt by an expidition to Darien, where english help, ha ha, was promised, but never materialised, they were left to be attacked and killed by the Spanish, Scotland had put all its eggs in one basket admittedly, but dont kid yourself that england is wealthy, your making the same mistake the Scots did back then, only to discover after joining the Union that england was in fact in ten times the debt Scotland was, Scotland Forever and Nae Union

  • @inverkenny England is an economical power house, and that is the reason that Britain is the 5th richest country. If I were Scottish I would be very proud, but I am English, and so I am a proud Englishman. The world is in a reccession at the moment as we all know, but it won't last long, and Britain will be the envy of the civilised world, yet again due to English money. If the Scots left the union they would be ignored on the world stage, at least with us you have a voice. God bless Edward I.
