  • I just love 0:32 the difference in body proportion when theycall out. They seem so pudgy but they aren't XD

  • Nice shots - those little critters are tough to photo or video!

  • @SanJuanMtnBob Thanks Bob! I took a few hours to do this. I went to a boulder field where I had been hearing them for a few weeks and set up my tripod there and waited for my opportunities! But even with that, by the time I would zoom in on them, they often were moving already - or I'd be getting the best footage before I had the camera stabilized... so some of the images are a bit unsteady. I'll be trying again sometime soon I'm sure!

  • Dang! Nice video! Sometims pikas are hard to capture. You did a wonderful job.

  • @Zogador Thank you! It took some patience for sure. I spent a couple of hours on this afternoon filming them. A few times, the best scenes were before I had the tripod fully set up so the footage is a bit shaky. Also, they were too quick for me to capture when they were running around with some vegetation in their mouths... a project for another summer I guess!

  • we see these all the time, and always wondered what they were! thanks!

  • @CupcakesandCardio You're welcome!

  • I had never heard or seen a Pika before this video. So cute!!

  • @kaylynn2525 I'm glad to introduce them to you! They are fun to watch... especially when they are running around with grasses and other plants in their mouths!

  • I feel like a unicorn after watching this.... so cute!!!

  • @Kaninius : ) They are cute critters indeed!

  • @Hulio7271 it's kind of fun that people say's that i remind of them!

  • @Kaninius lol you are not quite as furry as them. : )

  • @Hulio7271 how do you know? hahaha xD

  • @Kaninius Lucky guess. Or, of course, I could be wrong!

  • oh thats so cute and what a voice for one so little thanks for that it sure put a smile on my face

  • @jannicemull Thanks Janice! They seemed to be a lot lower this year and in this boulder field where I wasn't expecting them. I spent a bit of time filming them on this day, but didn't get any footage of them running around with vegetation in their mouths. Next year!
