I'm not knocking it at all, this is a great rendition. I just wanna know why so many people cover *this* particular song. The original happens to be a really great song, but it's also a pretty obscure, 1994 Atlantic Records release that didn't really see *all* that much popularity or airtime. So why do so many people redo it as an a capella arrangement? Just thought I'd ask.
I actually don't have any idea...I'd guess that it's probably just a pretty good, solid, and relatively easy song that's very recognizable. It makes a good addition in concerts because anyone who knows a cappella knows this song, and people love to hear stuff they know. Beyond that, I'm clueless - but I agree, it is a great song, and I really like hearing all of the different renditions, since no two are exactly alike!
I just noticed myself the inordinate amount of acapella cover versions of this song. There are probably more covers of the song than people who own the CD it comes from. I've been incorporating an acoustic cover of Try into all my pub sets. So Billy Pilgrim lives on.
2) Great job! I might like this even more than the Bathtub Dogs (from the University of Nebraska) version. And that's saying a lot, because I basically live for them.
xtension chords have the best version I think, additional harmonies you don't hear in other versions. These guys are pretty decent.

Well done...most guys I see do this song overdo the arrangement, too much vocal percussion, too heavy, too busy. You handle the song nicely.

this version sounds a lot like that of the Hamilton College Buffers.....love it

Two things:
1) This is really great audio.
2) Great job! I might like this even more than the Bathtub Dogs (from the University of Nebraska) version. And that's saying a lot, because I basically live for them.

I loved Billy Pilgrim. Amazing to see one of the guys reappear as part of the country band Sugarland.
