Beck has got mixed up between methane being the worse greenhouse gas (per unit of volume or weight) and CO2 being the worse (by amount released per year).

If he realized that it's the methane that cows release which is the problem and not the CO2 they release, it would have made more sense to him.

Though modern agriculture means food is basically made from oil, so that's another thing to consider.

Beck was way off on animal gases. The problem is not animal gases but it is the energy that it takes to rear animals, feed them, and to breed them in large quantities. The processes that basically allow for these things to happen are what cause gas emissions and not the animals themselves. But of course Beck wouldn't know that because he doesn't read anything besides his teleprompter.

glenn beck is right. nature does put out more co2 than we do. where he's wrong is that that is the natural componenet of co2 concentration in the atmosphere. the "problem" is that we're adding additional co2 into the system, thus adding co2 that is not put back into the environmental cycle, but that still doesn't mean that co2 is causing a change in temperature.

Why has everyone forgotten methane? Methane is the primary gas released from the agriculture and cows, and is 4x more pollutant than C02.

Somedumbnoob-Check the UN or IPCC report, I believe all man-made C02 makes up less than .001% of C02 in the atmosphere. Besides, as temp rises, C02 rises...not the other way around.

2. Less than 5% of CO2 emitted is manmade. It is statistically impossible for "cars and coal" to be the biggest emitters.

3. Beck makes a point. The domestication of animals such as cows and sheep contribute heavily. Vegetarianism would do more than buying a hybrid.

Good job Glenn. Nither one produced any studies or statistics to prove their possition, at least not in this segment. The UN has put animal gases as one of the top three sources of greenhouse gas though. The number 1 source of methane in the US is from animals, and 65% of nitrous oxide emissions worldwide are too. If not number one overall it sounds like agriculture is close to it.
