Nuclear power is the best source of energy by far. This guy doesn't know what he's talikng about. It's extremely hard for someone with little knowledge of nuclear energy to turn a fuckin nuclear power plant into something dangerous.
Just ask mr burns. There is nothing better more cleaner than good old nuclear power. Glen beck can take on all these tree huggers with both arms tied behind his back way to go GB
Beck has got mixed up between methane being the worse greenhouse gas (per unit of volume or weight) and CO2 being the worse (by amount released per year).
If he realized that it's the methane that cows release which is the problem and not the CO2 they release, it would have made more sense to him.
Though modern agriculture means food is basically made from oil, so that's another thing to consider.
Even a stopped watch is right twice a day. Glenn Beck is a loon; the kind of blustery, loud-mouthed lout one wishes wasn't on their side, but even a loon can have someone put seemingly accurate information under their nose.
Good news for the vegans, really, whom one might think would embrace this kind of thing as it allows them another justification to forcefully (by way of fear) promote their ideology, and by this proxy, their religion -- their 'green faith.'
i saw the tv coverage of tim russert ... how he was in great medial shape ... suddenly was killed ... i mean died ... that people medially healthy can drop dead at any moment ... the guy was dixie chicked .. pat tillman'ed ... valaorie plamed ... it was the rushie neocons again ... don't speak out against them .. there is only one side of any issue ... what you see on fox .. especially this year when a black is running for president .. the rushie neocons base is racist and sexist ... unthinkable
Ok so people want to stop having animals from spewing greenhouse gasses. That means letting them die or killing them right? Then when the cow becomes endangered you will fight to keep them alive. Same goes for goats. We won't have cheese, milk or yogurt(sp?). Where will you get these products?
If you actually listen Glenn just owns this guy. What a moron, I want clean energy but I am against nuclear. Why do all liberals want to be just like France, except for when it comes to nuclear energy.
Beck is Limbaugh's retarded Mini Me...and he thinks he is funny!?! He's clearly wrong about cow farts vs. coal. He doesn't understand that offset are a simple cap and trade that DOES produce real changes. And energy saved is BETTER than making more energy. So much stupidity in one package and laughs at his own jokes too...well, more hate-filled propaganda than jokes...
Beck was way off on animal gases. The problem is not animal gases but it is the energy that it takes to rear animals, feed them, and to breed them in large quantities. The processes that basically allow for these things to happen are what cause gas emissions and not the animals themselves. But of course Beck wouldn't know that because he doesn't read anything besides his teleprompter.
actually it's not co2 it's methane. Methane is a more powerful greenhouse gas so less makes a bigger impact. But yes, there are massive co2 emissions in the entire rearing, shipping, etc.
Who doesn't like Glenn Beck? No one...well liberals don't but nobody likes them and their not really people so...everyone likes Glenn Beck hes for Nuclear energy =D and against liberals and frekin illegals.
The sector emits 37 percent of anthropogenic methane (with 23 times the global warming potential (GWP) of CO2) most of that from enteric fermentation by ruminants. It emits 65 percent of anthropogenic nitrous oxide (with 296 times the GWP of CO2), the great majority from manure. Livestock are also responsible for almost two-thirds (64 percent) of anthropogenic ammonia emissions, which contribute significantly to acid rain and acidification of ecosystems.
The livestock sector is a major player, responsible for 18 percent of greenhouse gas emissions measured in CO2 equivalent. This is a higher share than transport.
The livestock sector accounts for 9 percent of anthropogenic CO2 emissions. The largest share of this derives from land-use changes -- especially deforestation -- caused by expansion of pastures and arable land for feedcrops. Livestock are responsible for much larger shares of some gases with far higher potential to warm the atmosphere.
This is according to the UN, not glenn beck. They also say global warming is happening. And Gore used info from the UN in his global warming fight. If you don't believe the UN saying that animals make more greenhouse gases, to not be a hypocrite, you must throw out all their other evidence.
Animals and plants have longer existence on earth than humans, global warming is the result of what humans do on this planet, not others, leave the nature on its own and it will find its way.. additional CO2 that ruins the earth is up to human activity such as cars and coal burning and glenn beck must be a dumb to claim all that bullshit so naturally he stinks while he speaks
we are apart of nature. we are animals. we are just too cocky to think so. we do not create global warming. period. stop hippy. watch 'the great global warming swindle'

Lol 'the best way to produce energy is by saving it'. This guy is a genius. Then when Glenn corrects him and says in fact 'that's not producing energy at all, it's saving it' all he guy can do is say 'riight':-)
Glenn you're the man speaking for the rest of us with common sense. Keep it up
glenn beck is right. nature does put out more co2 than we do. where he's wrong is that that is the natural componenet of co2 concentration in the atmosphere. the "problem" is that we're adding additional co2 into the system, thus adding co2 that is not put back into the environmental cycle, but that still doesn't mean that co2 is causing a change in temperature.
Glenn might want to look into the pollution cost of building a nuclear power plant and the still unanswered question of how to safely dispose of nuclear waste, might be why there hasn't been a nuclear power plant built in the states since the 70's.
This guy just lies your Glen becks face!! he says cars and coal are the mostly responsible for greenhouse gasses!! what an stupid idiot!! co2 people is pouring out of trees as we speak! do we cut down all those evil trees??? how about we kill all the animals and people too?? nut jobs like this would prolly be happy if all humans were dead!! ahahah
@phillycat26 I realize this comment is more than two years old, and that you probably won't read this, but it's stupid enough to warrant a response. You've made it clear that you're ignorant of basic scientific knowledge. Don't you realize how dirty the chemical make-up of coal is? And... wow. While it's true that all respiration produces CO2, plants produce a net negative of CO2 - meaning plants decrease CO2. As for animal emissions, I believe that moron Glen Beck is confusing CO2 with methane.
given the choice between worlds top 2500 scientists researching in climate change and some crackpots posting from their mama's basement in this message board.. i will always go with the first option! so, type away as much as u can.. u guys are in the wrong side.
Why has everyone forgotten methane? Methane is the primary gas released from the agriculture and cows, and is 4x more pollutant than C02.
Somedumbnoob-Check the UN or IPCC report, I believe all man-made C02 makes up less than .001% of C02 in the atmosphere. Besides, as temp rises, C02 rises...not the other way around.
What the hell? I thought someone from "Rainforest Action Network" would actually know a thing or two about the sources of CO2. But, that Brune guy is just plain ignorant. "I think that the biggest source of greenhouse gas is coal?" Note the "I think."
In fact, animals have always and still produce far more CO2 than all manmade sources. This is why Australia is the one single country which, per capita, produces more CO2 than the US.
4. Cows used in agriculture produce more Co2 than all human forms of transport. This is not to mention that ranching causes deforestation and eliminates Co2's natural sinks.
For a leading environmentalist to be totally ignorant of non-manmade CO2 is alarming. If the entire global warming movement is based on such an incomplete view, we have a problem here.
Good job Glenn. Nither one produced any studies or statistics to prove their possition, at least not in this segment. The UN has put animal gases as one of the top three sources of greenhouse gas though. The number 1 source of methane in the US is from animals, and 65% of nitrous oxide emissions worldwide are too. If not number one overall it sounds like agriculture is close to it.
ranvideo, I thought when Kennedy said Glenn Beck, he meant the sportscaster on WABC channel 7. This guy, Glenn Beck is totally annoying, is his sister, Ann Coulter? I am glad I learned who he is, now I know that I will never watch him again. "Spounds like a bunch of bull," for sure. What an idiot.

1. "the biggest source of greenhouse gas" is not coal. 95% of the greenhouse gas in the atmosphere is water vapor.
2. Less than 5% of CO2 emitted is manmade. It is statistically impossible for "cars and coal" to be the biggest emitters.
3. Beck makes a point. The domestication of animals such as cows and sheep contribute heavily. Vegetarianism would do more than buying a hybrid.

4. Cows used in agriculture produce more Co2 than all human forms of transport. This is not to mention that ranching causes deforestation and eliminates Co2's natural sinks.
