thanks a lot for making this vid, its been great. I have a 5 year old who loves the water and wants to wake surf. Seeing this video gives me the confidence that its really possible with the right coaching, your teaching tips are great - many thanks
what about putting the board on the swim platform and getting someone to push them out? thats how we started my little bro and everyone else trhat comes with us? i find it impossible to get up form water? ive wakeboarded for years and wakeskating for same ammoutn of time? why is that?
my cousin bought one of these and last year we got up starting out like a kneeboard because we didn't know how and i was able to do it and i weight 180lbs but it was pretty difficult. this year we tried it the regular way and it was way easier.
this is a terrible video im 13 and ive got everysingle one of my freinds up first time dont listen to this go get a hyper lite surf board or phase five but dont us e a regular surf board
i have a new wakesurf and i have a ski nautique and ive been trying to wakesurf but i am having problems, it always seems like the wake is a giant cap, unlike the one in the video. what should i do to get the nice curl of the wake? and what speed should the boat be travelling? i can get up and can ride without the rope but it seems like i am right behind the back platform, am i dooing this wrong?
What type of skim? Most skims are designed that way. You can help it by replacing the small skim fin, with a larger one, to give you more control, then go back to the smaller later.
okay just so you know....this was a great video. Me and my Dad are starting next week but I have one quesstion...should we put like a weight in the back of our boat to make a bigger wake? like the 400 or 725 pound ones? we have a 88' Ski centurion
hey great vid.... we just tried to wake surf this past weekend... and for some reason it was not working... we could get up had no problems there... but i think our settings or the wake wasnt correct.... does the boat have to be goin in a long cirlcle? do you have any tips on speed or angle of the wake...??
An inboard boat, not a outboard, or inboard/outboard should be used. Since the surfer is close to the boat, you want a boat with a swim platform and inboard prop, so the prop is all the way under the boat and completely out of the way of the surfer.
do you belly surf?

Sure, many will work. Most regular surfboards are larger than they need to be. You don't have to paddle to catch a wave.

well my skim board has no fins on it
hockeymc47 2 years ago
yeah, you def need at least one fin, to get that thing stabilized.
wake9tv 2 years ago
hey i have been trying to wake surf with a skimboard and its extremely hard to contol and i dont want to buy another any advice?
hockeymc47 2 years ago
do you think that you could wakesurf with a wakeskate?thanks.
brody01134 2 years ago
Probably not. If it was a big wakeskate, a big wake, and you were small, maybe. It would also be very difficult to control.

snorider156 2 years ago
No, you shouldn't have to go in a circle, but it depends on the boat you have, and how you have it weighted.
