how high up does the cargo net go? Is it easy to keep your grip on that one or not? The slide for life is the scariest? And the spider wall must be a bitch?
I have to watch this again. I have never in my living life seen anything this intense, and I have seen some amazing athletes in action and trained with some incredible individuals. It's as thrilling to me to see people perform like this as it is to watch Olympians in action. But the difference is THIS is about life and death, not athletics.
You know when he has to do the tower thing...Does he do a reverse grip pull up and swing his body over the top of him to get up? That seems like the most dangerous phase to get injured and fall...is that the only and most effective way of getting up the tower?
Not sure about the Mother-Russia comments, but I can tell ya for damn sure that Coronado sand will take most of what you have right out of you all by itself. Add sleep deprivation and nutrient deficiency and you'll be hearing bells in your sleep. This kid has obviously taken the think and feel out of the equation. Right on. BUD is King.
From a brother in arms (ret Marine), that was an outstanding run on the o'course. I played around with this o'course while stationed in SD and it was no joke. Good job and thank you for taking over the helm.....God bless.......
I figured if you were really determined to be a Navy SEAL just watching these videos would give you a slight advantage, you'd know what to expect and the best way to train for these things, it's great you can find so much on SEAL training on the net.
@dertyjerz3 join the navy, DEP in, and go down there, show the guard your DEP ID and they let you on. its better if you know someone down there so you have an 'escort' but as long as you are DEP'd in you can get on base and practice the O Course.
So looking at the 10:30 they expect you to do in third phase, this dude is kicking some major ass! Is 6:00 common? What is the course record if you don't mind me asking?
Can you tell me what the grinder pt is like? Like the excersises you do and how many and stuff like that, I am training so much right now cause after college I really want to be a SEAL. Im just trying to get as much info as I can get before I go. Thanks.
Well, I was there and I saw it. I salute you as a physically accomplished genius, which includes all phases of mental and physical dicipline, exicuted with finess and ease. You make it look like fun! It was worth every mile I drove to see you. I agree with the Chaplin when he blessed you all.
Yes actually this is a buds student in second phase you will soon find out that pst scores don't matter at all when you get there. the best thing you can do to prepare yourself Is to not think "just do." when you start thinking that's when you fuck yourself mentaly.
@speedfreak2080 So first phase is just inspections and hell week, THEN second phase is the obstacle course? I don't know i'm a bit confused because i'm going to enlist in becomming a Navy SEAL once when I become of age and earn my bachelor degree.
@Tord176 phase one is the intro phase where they try to weed out the people who cant make it as SEALs by putting them through absoulute hell. phase one is the hardest phase. phase two is the phase that teaches you what defines you as a navy SEAL. you learn all the things that pretty much only navy SEALs are taught. drown proofing and diving stuff like that, phase 3 you are taught land warfare. then parachute training!!! then SQT! i really think that aall sounds amazing! i wanna be a SEAL too :)
good stuff. we did a similar course for practice. i ship out with SEAL contract in april. the rope movement after the slide for life looks tough, is that really hard? whos the dude who did the course, is that you speedfreak? did you graduate? are you doing platoon training right now?
I've seen previous videos where the first two levels of the tower were smaller. Is the new addition there because ppl kept falling off and injuring themselves at the higher levels? Wouldn't it make a potential SEAL operator that much more skilled if there was more risk involved on that tower?
What happened to the uneven posts after the parallel bars?
6:00 mins dude youre a beast. wish u luck. wish i could practice the O course right now. slide for life looks like a killer, you handled those bars really fast
I'm guessing you're pretty much proper screwed if you take a dive off that huge vertical net? I heard somewhere they said that the obstacle course helps to "expose indecision." I would probably stand as the base of the net staring at it for 10 minutes before I was told to get my ass off the course.
Dude in my class quit at the top of the net. Yelled at the top of his lungs "I quit"...at which point the instructors were like "You still have to get down idiot!???"
Awesome Video! sure you can figure out who i am from my email addy. Yeah this guy is like one of the smaller guys in our class and crushed all of us everytime through buds! he does a lot of crazy free running and rock climbing and stuff, Speedfreak your crazy! see ya tomorrow.
