Ty for tutorial I got a problem everytime I open a file I get a black outline box in the middle of it how do I get rid of it? I think its like the canvas size or something and its annoying I hope I don't have to manually fix this everytime when I open a file. Thanks

I think you may be talking about the ArtBoard, by going to View>Hide Artboard that may fix your problem.

well you can learn basically by playing around or watch tutorials like this one! if you're serious about learning it more though I'd pick up a good book on it, they're always good to have as a reference. I'm not sure about discounts on master collection, but you can get like the web or production packages at a huge student discount, just google adobe student discount, go to their official site (it should be the first result). and yeah, this is cs3.

you have to buy it but you can get a free trial from the adobe web site. there are some free softwares that are very similar though...Inkscape is a really popular free one.

Although this tutorial is cool, the left click and hold shift option + pull down doesn't work for me. It just adds another rectangle with the same gradient effect.

hmm..make sure you have the gradient tool selected in the toolbar. and holding option isn't necessary, just shift and drag to make sure you get a straight gradient. let me know if that helps..and thanks for watching!

if you cant aford this then you should practice on a free software and once you have saved for this exelent program buy it note: maybe use gimp for justseeing things you can make all sorts with it but this adobe product is better ;)

you could modify the letters by turning them into outlines.... and just shaping them as you wish! hope it helps!
