unbiliviable , to be simple, sincere, and brave.... the best thing that happen to me in life....if every child in the world practice karate do goyu ryu o different style with same concept of karate, the world would be different...
I train Goju Ryu (or actually Goju Kai) but we have been having people from other styles to in our dojo, like from shotokan and kyokushin, so ive seen other ones to and how they are, and thye difference from they and us. But this is traditional Goju Ryu! 5/5
video is hard to watch because of that spotlight in my eyes. Notice how the opponent is always put onto the ground. There is no demonstration of zanshin though so I don't get the martial feeling.
shotokan has ju jitsu locks and throws hidden within the Kata's and often not obvious, take a look at kanka dai it has lots in!!
the emphasis and focus in shotokan is ichi geki... samurai did jitsu but also had swords so when fighting them, keeping your distance then finishing them quickly was vital... if you dared take on a guy with a sword lol.
that was very good. my sensei is always saying when bowing to your partner keep your eyes up front, same goes when bowing off and this vid you posted shows just how easily you can be caught off guard when not paying attention.
@slapnut892 Old comment to reply to, but yes, and my sensei added as advice to not lock eyes when bowing; it's too confrontational. He said to lose focus. If something were to come at you, you'd see it.
Dear adipresley, the karate ones trades them, what he is sold as simple sport from combat can seem easier, but the true Japanese martial art with of the healthy principles, is not then therefore easy like can seem.

Not bad, but not enough zanshin between practitioners during techniques. Rather lacsidasial attitude between participants.
