Hey i have got a question! When I wanna import the files from the camera to my PC do I have to buy a extra device or can i just buy some cables and connect it to my PC and import the files?????
@javieralza Better quality, tons of more features such as color changes examples of color change include, knee, matrix, color temperature, contrast, saturation, preset colors, white balance, then there's exposure control (aperture or iris), way better image stabilization, microphone outputs, handles on top and better lenses for better quality, better zoom and manual focus and other controls, also more durability and shutter speed optiuons and other stuff
hello friend, I want your help and you ensure that no fittings, what is the difference between a camera "hvr-HD1000E" and "HVR-HD1000U? And what is better?. I want to buy one to shoot weddings, baptisms, communions, what do you recommend? I greatly appreciated. and tell me if it's good image quality and if it helps me what I want!! blessings
it looks professional and is almost as big as a realle professional camera, BUT IT IS NOT! its video-quality is really bad, buy the HV30, it might not look as good as this big camera, but its quality is much better!
I brought this camera and it broke with little use. The reason was I brought it from an online company. Provisual Direct - don't buy from these people -
I payed 275 pounds for a five year warranty which was a waste of paper. They refused to fix it, even when I sent it to them - they sent it back the same day in a different smaller box to save themselves money. Just a warning in case anyone thinks of going to those people. Thank you
I brought this camera and it broke with little use. The reason was I brought it from an online company. Provisual Direct - don't buy from these people - They sold it as a 1000e but it was a Grey import - a 1000p.

These bad boys don't fetch for too much nowadays. Was considering buying one, just it's just too big for what I wanted. Cheapest I saw was around £1.2k. Looks like a nice camera.
I agree that this camera lacks in lowlight department and image quality in general. It is basicallly an HC9 camera in a big body. However, after very short time I realized how many advantages the HD1000 has over the HC9. It has a very usable manual control (HC9's ring is unusable), it makes much steadier video when resting on your shoulder, and you cactually have a lot of space to mount camera light AND wireless microphone receiver. You could not possible mount those on the HC9.
OK. Cameras are for pictures, right? Camcorders are for videos, right? But what the hell the Canon 7D DSLR make HD videos betters that any Camcorder of HD around 6k to 8k and it only cost $2,129. And as a Videographer a need to pay 6K to 8k for a HD camcorder and it get worst, those camcorder are 1/3 CCD chip, the worst thing in low light situation. Check this video "Canon 7D movie - Another night in Beijing" This is proof that SONY,JVC & Panasonic only whant to F... Y.. until they can't no more.
@nelsonmilian00 are you honestly comparing Sony camcorders to the canon 7d? the camera may shoot hd video, but it's so not user friendly. can't use the camera on a steadicam, can't have XLR phantom powered external mics, and can't have a hard copy of your footage on a minidv tape. you really can't compare the handling on a semi-pro / pro camcorder to a DSLR's. Canon was aiming for is to give the fancy photographers a chance to make a short HD montage for their clients / newlyweds, as a bonus.
be that as it may, it''s still Totally worth it. the quality of my movies has increased drastically ever since I got the FX1000. btw the FX1 is the shittiest camera I've ever seen.
@dvamateur yeah I know, I just told the guy with the battery charging problem to look for the little led that indicates that the battery is charging. but thanks anyways, good tip, good to know:D cheers
this camera sucks, it's very amateur like. it looks quite similar to the panasonic md10000, also a crappy camera. Can't really find the use for the huge lightweight body... why not just get the Sony FX1000?
@rememberstudio FX1000 costs twice as much. You can't compare apples to oranges, the FX1000 will surely be better, as it has 3 sensors. I actually had a chance to work with Z5U, which is kind of like FX1000, but with the XLR audio inputs. The image quality of the Z5U is much better than the HD1000, and Z5U has also many great features that the HD1000 lacks. HD1000 is basically an HC-9, but with the nice big ring on the lens, and it's steadier to have a camera on the shoulder than handheld
I personally like the S270, which is the same spec as the Z7. The S270 is only $1000 more expensive than Z7, so it's no brainer to me to go for the S270. But not now. I will get the S270 just before it will have been discontinued, for low price. And the M35 deck to go with it.
Interesting camera. One would think, that it is an HC9 in a big body, which is true. The cameras have the same sensor. So, in a way, it is a consumer camera inside of the big empty body. But wait a second. The big body gives you shake free handling on the shoulder, the big manual ring is very smooth and comfortable to use, to make manual operation a breeze, and the camera heft makes it handle very smooth on a tripod. And the ability to make smooth shake free videos is worth every penny!
when using it the imbalance is screwing up the shoulder mount operation though. SOme modifications I made (a shoulder band with some weight attached fixed this partially, but its not fully shake-free. The quality of the camera is decent, the audio sucks, even when using an external microphone as the internal circuit likes to oversteer hard
Hi, I've bought that camera despite all the others adviced me not. But, believe me, it is quite an excelent camera. But you have to learn to use it manualy, turn on the ZEBRA function and set the ring for the Exposer. You will be able to open the Sharf/Aperture instantly and you will never make bad records!
Actually, most professional camcorders ($10,000+) are sold without lenses, just "body". Some HD compatible lenses like fujinon brand can cost as much as a car. As far as I know you can unscrew the lens from this camera and attach another, better, if you want.
I've got one too - I love this thing. I use it for all my videos on my channel now. I haven't had any problems with it; although since it's so big, you need a more heavy-duty tripod.
cool video, i just got the sony hvr-hd1000u, i dont think its any different from this one, i was wondering where to find a firewire cable for this camera, PLEASE HELP, ive been lookin everywhere
what would it be like for shooting action sports? i would use it for downhill mountain biking.. would it be too heavy to hold it low down in one hand and be able to maneuver it effectively? do you also have any suggestions for maybe a small professional camera for that purpose? :)
Sony makes a smaller semi-pro camera called the 'HDR-FX7' (I think) it is still HD and easier to operate with one hand... but do not let its size fool you its still great quality... a little more expensive ($2,000 USD)... now as for mountain biking, you might run into a few problems with any camera that uses tape as a storage medium, the tape might drift off the head as you hit rough terrain and that will corrupt the video, and could damage the camera as well. I would look into digital storage.
It's not as bad as everyone says. I've been filming for 2 years with an HDR-SR12 wih a 120GB HDD taking it downhill mountain biking in my backpack, and I've never had a single problem with it. I've dropped it and crashed and the disk has always shut down before anything could happen.
cont. digital storage cameras are less susceptible to vibrations although it might be hard to find one that records true HD. There is a company that makes 'crash cams' that can do this but i can't remember the name and they are way to overpriced...
Sony also has a new cam meant for this: Sony HXR-MC1P. This camera is meant for head/helmet/shoulder mounting and can withstand shocks and water to some extend
@HalomasterA69 Actually I didn't buy it and I have no idea how much it cost I wish I can help you with that but sorry,
but you can contact "Sony" by going to the same extension that I gave you, next to the camera you'll see three squares inside one under "HVR-HD1000E" choose the middle one which is "For Prices and Information" "Contact Sony" you have to register I guess, put your information and there they'll deal with you about the price.
I've used the HVR-1000U since 4/08. It's a heavy camcorder & I get tired carrying it on my shoulders after awhile; some shots were tilted slightly - not framed properly - takes time to get used to shooting w/ it.. Getting up from a kneeling position w/ the camcorder on my shoulder is tricky - I've found myself looking upward to see the display/viewfinder & w/ my neck straining. I don't have freedom of movement as I have had w/ smaller camcorders. The camcorder is best used on a tripod.
Is this camera is very heavy? and it is good to bear on the shoulder? I want to buy and I wanted to ask whether this is beneficial if you are not so much money to spend? and they have a bag for this camera and how much it cost? And even ask ne see how with the battery charging from?
The camera isn´t too heavy, but if you have it on a shoulder for longer time, it could be for someone difficult (to hold the camera still). Camera on a shoulder bears good.
I am from CZ, so I don´t know how prices are abroad.
Bags, I think there are some original bags from Sony (try to search for accessories on sony official sales websites), but as I seen, they vere too expensive (in CZ).
I have my own camera in tinny case - it fits perfectly and the camera is in safe position. It prevents from any movements or something, that could cause any damage to the camera.
The case itself was not expensive (about 1/5 of price in comparison with original sony bags).
That's a mean tripod you got there too! Yea, I trying to decide between the HVR HD1000 and the HMC70 for my event videography camera, and later i will upgrade for my ENG camera for my films, i'mma filmmaker/director

His major lack is: the low light capabilities due to the small optics and the complicated manual control of the most important functions.
The all "doing ring" is not a solution for prosumer or pro user.
