  • This is a great video

  • god in my religion says everything happens for a reason look at jaysean is now he is a international star

  • what a bunch a fucking fakers they are jay sean lil wayne drake and co. they all go to college and have high educations and then rap about how they are gansters and the hard life on the streets

  • @seanybhoy15 are you stupid? jay sean was never and will never talk about that...have u heard his songs? watched his interviews? or are you talking outta ur ass?

in his song "you dont know me" from his first album he fully said "never hustled on the block or lived the life as a G"

get ur facts right and stop making up bullshit...give jay sean credit the credit he fully deserves

  • What an idiot. Dropped out of med school to be some no name rapper whose career will end in no time. Never even heard of this guy in the us or Canada.

  • this is why hes my idol

  • @ChronicFatigueSyn

I can critique this however I want!! It is called FOS. All I see here is someone who is wanting validation for skipping out on medical school. Who can validate that. Listen to him! He talks about his choice NOT being medical school. Sad!! It really is. He is pretending to have a passion for what he is doing now, and it is obvious; otherwise, he would not even mention medical school. Not finishing medical school will haunt him for the rest of his life.

  • @ChronicFatigueSyn

You have to agree, he will regret it for the rest of his life that he did not complete medical school. A very sad situation. It was like choosing illegal drugs instead. Like, being a lazy person, like not wanting to put in the effort, like someone ignoring their calling then.....if you think your such a bad ass.

  • @ChronicFatigueSyn

Good grief, glad he didn't though, can you imagine all those people he would have messed up on?

  • @whitesoxfanforsure if he got into medical school its highly unlikely that he would mess up on patients.

  • @Zanarkke

he will regret not ever going. I am in medical school right now, doing my final research.

  • @whitesoxfanforsure just been accepted into medical school, and i shall be starting in september. Its strange it feels like we are on different spectrums. And I agree he will regret. If i was him i would have become a qualified doctor before i embarked on the music industry. Are you in US? coz here in the uk medicine is the most competetive course, with very rigorous checks. If JS got in medschool and finished it he would have been a decent doc. All is GMC standardised.

  • @Zanarkke

Fall 2012 my third year. Seven in my class are continuing for the psychiatric to practice psychotherapy. I did not take my MCAT until after I finished my Master degree in BioChemistry.

  • I remember when I left medical school.

  • @zadeh79

    Why did you leave?

  • @whitesoxfanforsure There are a couple reasons why. Firstly, I had little to no background/interest about medicine. I went to medical school because I felt it was good way to compromise my interest in science, with my parents interest in wealth/respect (associated with Medicine). Secondly, I had gotten in Rosalind Franklin University with a nearly perfect GPA, and I was confident that I could maintain good grades, but the courses in medical schools were overwhelming.

  • @zadeh79 I should have gone into computers where I had more background experience, and interest. I was already programming C++ by senior year high school. Nobody in '97 knew much , if anything about programming (nowadays it's a different story). Also my intellectual peak, in terms of fluid intelligence, was relatively highest at about 20-22 years old. My circuitry start to wind down after this. I should have been out with a (Comp sci) degree at 21-22. - instead 160 credits, no degree.

  • @zadeh79

    I see, and completely understand.

  • @zadeh79

Need no backgound in medicine, but the no interest a different factor. What overwhelming courses are you talking about?

  • watz the name of that beat?? dat shit is fire!!!!!!

  • "Jay Sean talks about leaving the safety and certainty of Medical School to chase his dreams in the music industry."

This is the introductory claim to your information video. It is so contradictory. Read it and tell me what it says. Can you see why you could never go to medical school now? How is your career in music at this point?

  • Glad you decided not to be a doctor....whoa...that was close. You being selected was a false positive selection.

  • medicine is different. it is highly unlikely that he could be readmitted after abandoning medical school.

  • you don't know this guy, you don't know his circumstances, his reasons, but you still judge him- what is more foolish than that?

  • Certainty and safety are bad words to use when describing medical school. OP makes it sound so "easy".

  • i rather save peoples life then travel the world,

  • @armymedic98 it depends what you want out of life. sometimes you can do both.

  • Jay Sean woulda been a SEXY doctor!

  • @samcandy2030

but his would've and his could've are not the point now is it? Doctors gets to travel just about anywhere they want to. This "DUDE" was not meant to be a doctor.....glad he is not.

  • mad respect. follow your dreams! I never wanted a college education, but at the insistance of my parents I went, graduated and became an accountant. why? because i couldn't think of anything better to do. i went to work, did ok and now i have a stable job with a good salary. i don't really like my job, i live for the weekend and vacations. i wish i was an auto mechanic

  • I bet he has a shitload of student loans to pay off lol. He is a fool, and I've never heard of this man. What does he do? Rap? Sing?

  • @BeepimajeepBeep When you graduate from high school things get a bit tougher.

  • I never study and I get all A's.

If you need to study, then you should leave medical school.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep

Lol, if you DON'T study when you get to medical school, you're an idiot. I never studied in high school either, and I was an A average student, unfortunately for me, when I got to college, and started my pre-med program, studying became a full time job. Get used to it, because when you hit the college level, people who don't study, are the ones who flunk out.

  • @nick42701 Lol I am in college and I barely study and still get a A's, I go to a state college, and not a top private school, but a degree is a degree (that's what the mcat is for). I am sure I can get above a 35 on my mcat. I will study in medical school (if I get there) obviously. But undergraduate is a cake walk.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep

Lets be honest here, I'm also pre-med, and if there's one thing I can't stand, its people that carry an ego such as yourself, and try to put others down because they put in the time and effort to study. I don't believe you for a bit. I consider myself a pretty intelligent person, and I'm in my 3rd year at a university, and there is NO way you could maintain at least a 3.5 GPA without studying. That is, unless you're a genius, which I'm guessing you're not.

  • @nick42701 You assume too much. If you actually read my comment, you would notice that I said, "barely study." Around 30-45mins of studying is what I do. I wouldn't consider myself a genius at all; I think of myself as a normal person with a normal iq, who happens to be very good at getting through classes. My studying efficiency is near 100% perfection. The key to getting into medical school is confidence, yes I am an asshole.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep

someone with a username like BeepimajeepBeep is not too intelligent. A's? Are U sure about that?

  • @whitesoxfanforsure So you're saying I am not intelligent because of my username? Please explain your logic? You can't even spell you correctly??? and unless you hacked into my transcript and changed my letter grades, i'll always have A's.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep

U is a text symbol used for the word you. Do you know what that even is? Your phraseology is horrible. A lot of people get A's. I scored a 36 on my ACT. What was your score?

  • @whitesoxfanforsure Trying to prove something to me over youtube? U* mad?

  • @BeepimajeepBeep Yea I am in your face prove to me what you have you could not do medical school that is so uncool anyone can travel anyone can do music as a side time and anyone can do a record deal so leaving medical school was a bad thing you traded the real challenge for the common thing not everyone can go to medical school....sorry bro you feel that music was more important... who cares your crappin decision except for you i give you no validation take the rap for your own decision!
  • @whitesoxfanforsure What are you trying to prove? I was saying that if you need to study you should leave medical school... what are you talking about? rephrase your essay then resubmit.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep

Everybody has to study in medical school. Proving that you have missed your chance at medical school!!! That was CRAZY....nothing or no one can validate you-make you feel better- for not completing medical school.

  • @whitesoxfanforsure you just got trolled so hard, but seriously, u need to study?

  • @BeepimajeepBeep

you said you studied real hard....make up your mind

  • @whitesoxfanforsure I never said I studied real hard.... I don't ask you about your grades, because I know they are not good

  • @BeepimajeepBeep

Yes, as a matter of fact I am in the elite 8 medical students at a prestigious university. Are you?

  • @whitesoxfanforsure Once again, you're trying to prove too much to me (don't really care about your stats). You are not as smart as me.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep

    Right....I am the smartest !!!

  • @whitesoxfanforsure are you in usa?

  • IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN JAY SEAN. iM YOUR BIGGEST FAN JAY SEAN. IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN JAY SEAN. IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN JAY SEAN. IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN JAY SEAN.IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN JAY SEAN. • Good video. However as a medical student I would just like to point out that med school there is no "safety and certainty" whatsoever.

  • @padbogue really??? so a board certified student has problems?

  • he was clearly born to be a billionaire: a physician, or a musician DAMN

  • fuck u all.....he is the best ,he has brain with music!!and its also tough to handle both medical STUDY and music...and he choose his passion at last !! U MAKE US ALL PROUD !!KEEP ON THE GUD WORK JAY SEAN>>>>>>>>>>>>>!!

  • What a loser - got into medical school and then left. He would be lucky to be on B4U Music now lol. Unemployed now ROFL.

  • no

  • jay shoon

  • Average career length of a r&b singer/rapper =2-10 years [If you last that long].

Average career length of a doctor/surgeon/medical field = 40+ years with retirement ,benefits, beautiful money, saving lives, and feeling accomplished.

When his music career comes to a stop in a year or 2 he is going to regret making that decision. He will try to get back into Medical school, but it's not going to happen since he dropped out. Lightning doesn't strike in the same place again.

  • Dropped out of medical school [very difficult to get accepted] to be a 1 hit wonder. When the label drops you, FED-EX and Pizza Hut are always hiring.

  • What I'd give to go to med school whb I graduate

  • Here is how Medical School should be. After students graduate they will work directly for the Government. No more balogny. Setting them free causes corruption. Their also charging too much causing damage to the economy. Graduates will be located to a Government Hospital. They will be paid by the Government.

    A. Terminology and The Basics.

    B. Anatomy and Cell Biology.

    C. Medicine and Pharmaceuticals.

    D. Normal Physician and Surgical.

  • @tnguyen318

    Hip, Hip hooray for Totalitarianism.

  • Is Medical School the Total System?

  • @tnguyen318

You know any Medical Doctors who have NOT attended Medical School? So Yes, that is the basis of the TOTAL system.

  • You guys are immature..This is what the man wants..Plus think about this...Becoming a top celeb and making millions in such little time..or become a doctor and pay tons of money for medical school and put ur ass in debt and have to pay that back the rest of your life?

  • @allexfenty

"Working for the man" can also include being an uneducated celeb who receives thousands of dollars in advance without being able to read a record/movie contract. Forever in debt and unable to make real money off of the music they create. Doctors aren't in the poor house. And their salaries will always be high because they limit the number of people who enter medical school (on purpose). This drives up the price of Medical School, but also ensures Dr's receive a high salary.

  • I can't believe how narrow minded you people are.. this was his DREAM. Did you not hear? He's been doing music from the age of 12 years old. It's not like he just decided to leave medical school and become a singer, he was presented with the opportunity of a lifetime, something he had been working towards for years! What's wrong with chasing your dreams? I feel sorry for those who are just okay with being content, scrutinizing him for his decision, you must have no clue what dreams are.

  • Waste. Go back to medical school.

  • what an idiot. I would go with Medical school than be a singer.

  • He inspires me (y)

  • Makes total sense. Drop out of Med School to make garbage music. But, if his dream was to make music, G_d bless him. If he would have become a doctor equivalent to the level of the type of singer he his now. I would have to say thank you for dropping out. Because he did his potential patients and the medical profession A BIG FAVOR.

  • His comment at 2:22 doesn't help me. I both wanna rock out and cut someone's intestines as a career... T_T

  • Medical School fucking sucks period.

Dropping out of a British Medical School though, you don't get to see that everyday.

  • wtf why are those 2 comments so liked? He isn't an idiot. He chased his dreams.

  • I wish I were in his place! Im bending backwards and frying my brain to get into med school. It wouldnt be an easy decision to make to leave it...so i respect his decision even if some poor student couldve had the opportunity instead. :(

  • all these people are so jealous, so what if he left medical school, im in medical school and i would 100% leave it to become a millionaire and travel the world. fucking haters.

  • no he's not a idiot so what if he wanted to leave medical school to be a famous singer, its his life. He gradually made his way to be famous, he likes singing, going round the world and meeting new people so let him.

  • There's a lot of mention of respect. If that's the chief reason why people want to become a doctor, then I prefer Jay Sean is in a career he is passionate and sincere about.

  • For undergraduates like us busting our asses to get to med school. Wow. Just wow. -.-

  • Dude, are you fucking retarded??? Whatever, i wouldnt want my doctor to be retarded like you anyways....

  • freakin dumbass.

  • The worst is he didn't make it big first time round and tried to reapply back into Barts - and then he rejected them again! Talk about a lack of vision of where to go - and it doesn't sound like the 100% effort he's talking about. And with more than 15 people applying for each place at Bart's (at my time of application anyway), he has essentially wasted 2 places in medical school that could've gone to others who really wanted it. Rather selfish in my opinion.

  • The medical industry sucks. My mom was sick and they did nothing. My mom had to look for real professionals. Guess what she is getting better. Docter's are losers. I tell them what I feel and they say nothing! "So why did you go to medical school again?"( applies to docter's) Yeah to get rich from people who are suffering!

  • "I'd rather do this than cut some dude's intestines."

Thanks goodness he left medical school.

With that attitude he deserves to be owned by the music industry.

  • loads of people leave medical school for worse reasons than becoming a huge music star.

although i hate his music im a med student and respect his decision.

  • JaySean you left medical school to go become a one hit wonder... far more greater things you could have done if you would have stayed in medical school!

  • @Ecompass4 The thing is people put medical school and being a doctor on a pedestal, there are many people in med school who probably aren't cut out for being a doctor (like people with poor communication skills, emotional intelligence, who are lacking in empathy, or even don't realize the amount of hours and sacrifice they have to put in)...Guys like Jay Sean probably just went to med school because their parents pushed them into that direction...

  • @speakupforjustice And I'm sure he's going to be successful in what ever he tries, he seems to have the drive and mentality to follow his dreams to the fullest

  • I love him so much more now(:

  • Am I the only person on here that has left school for personal reasons and went back when later? People are acting like if his career doesn't jump off the way he wants he can't go back to school. School isn't going anywhere...Follow your dreams...and if your dream doesn't workout the way you intend then go back to school. People probably told Bill Gates he was dumb for leaving school too...I bet a lot of people told him he would never make it to Med school...so do what's in your heart!

  • @ferglife dude medical school is not just like "goin to school" its hardcore competive to get in and being accepted once and dropping out doesnt fair well if you want to apply again

  • @ferglife He was a flake. He left again after being given a second chance because his music career the first time round wasn't the success he was hoping. His personal reasons were totally selfish and he jumped ship when he could. Not a good quality to have if your elbow deep in somebody.

  • Why would you ever leave Medical School? Those Record Companies rob you of all the money you make and you could easily become dirt poor in a year.

  • @xXGuitarMuffinsXx or you could be wealthier in one year than it would take to work 10 years as a doctor. There is risk in all that we do in life.

  • @LGLG69 What I'm trying to say is that people would DIE to go to medical school. This man got in, and just blew his chances of being a respected member in the medical field. Instead, he chooses a job that takes little to no talent whatsoever and at least if he stayed in Medical School and became a doctor, he would have NO chances of losing his job. Where here, anything in can happen. You might be #1 for a month, then you make a shitty album, your music sounds old, and end up on the streets.

  • @xXGuitarMuffinsXx U don`t understand! It's about following your "dreams". This is HIS way he choose ! Respect that !!! A lot of people are unhappy with there life because they ignore their true dreams in life, they always see the negative and risky sides of it just like u!!But look at him now!!He propably saw the whole world, signed by Cash Money and everyday he's doin what actually was his hobby !

  • @s1a2m3a4r5a6 If I was him and had a dream in the music business, but was already in medical school, I would have NEVER dropped out. That's possibly the stupidest decision anyone can make. You honestly don't understand that being in the medical field is a hell of a lot more worth it, and you get a lot more respect from it. It would have been different if he never went to medical school, but if you're already in and choose to drop out to be in the music industry, you're a flat out idiot.

  • @xXGuitarMuffinsXx

    No it's really not.

Medical school is a HUGE financial loss, most graduates average 200,000 dollars worth of debt by the time they finish their four years, and the cost is still rising. Not only that, even once you graduate, you have to work 3-5 years (depending on your specialty) as a resident who barely scrapes 45 grand a year on average. And during this time, your debts will keep building up by about 6%.

Jay Sean made the right choice.

  • @gasbait Rarely does that ever happen. And it's only for a short time until you start getting the big money. Could you complain about making 200k - 1 mil a year? I don't think so. Anyway, the whole music industry is a scam, the only people racking up the dough is the record companies. You make a small ass percentage of what you should actually be making. Those record companies are making billions while the little "musicians" are making a few hundred thousand a year.

  • The medical industry sucks. My mom was sick and they did nothing. My mom had to look for real professionals(real docters). Guess what she is getting better. Docter's are losers. I tell them what I feel and they say nothing! "So why did you go to medical school again?"( applies to docter's) Yeah to get rich from people who are suffering!

  • @eragonsaphira1 You might be the dumbest person I've ever come across. For starters, you've misspelled the word, "Doctor" three times. Second, saying, "The medical industry sucks" is another step towards your idiocy. Without doctor's and the improvements of medical science, our life expectancy wouldn't be so high and you'd most likely die around the ages of 30 to 50. "My mom was sick and they did nothing. My Mom had to look for real professionals(real doctors)." That statement right there made

  • @eragonsaphira1 about no fucking sense whatsoever. First off, who is, "they"? If you're implying she went to the doctor's and then went to the doctor's again, and that the first one didn't do anything, and the second did something, I still don't understand at all what the fuck you're trying to say. Are you trying to say that she went to a doctor, and had to find a real doctor, which still makes so sense.. "I tell them what I feel and they say nothing!", obviously, you're either full of shit or

  • @eragonsaphira1 you're not talking to a doctor. Please do everyone a favor and go back to school. I realize that children these days are getting dumber and dumber, but please try to be one of them that isn't a complete retard.

  • i love youuuuuuuuu jay sean haha i am going TO MEDICAL SCHOOL doing neurosurgeon can u be my lecturer or my tutor man i need helppppp with studdyyyyyyy! i would have regreted it i loveee medicine and music meh its amazing but id choose medical school over it anyways u INSPIRE ME JAY SEAN LOVE U <3

  • Coongratulations, you have reaped the rewards of a north american life style. You have left a concrete foundation of a career, and have entered into an unstable, unpredictable profession which will undoubtedly lead to money greedy buisnessman abusing and using you to acheive financial suscess. All you are doing is contributing to the north american consumer idealism. You had the chance of becoming a respected physician who would save lives, but you threw it away to become a media whore!!

  • lol Respect to him !

  • I'm not trying to sound idealistic but when you feel empty, you realize what is truly important. You have to surround yourself with people who make you feel good and do something you are passionate about (be honest with yourself) because when everyone is gone (dead, moved away...), you can't lie to yourself. Of course, you need to evaluate and calculate BEFORE but you need to try.

  • Most people go to medical school for the wrong reasons: scared of life, peer pressure, social "prestige", money (which is not a lot considering that you have a >100 000$ debt, interns don't get full salaries, you need to pay huge malpractices insurances and you work 70-80hours / week minimum which is like making a lot of overtime)... At the end, you need to be passionate. You need to be happy. I lost both my parents (I am 25) and I realized that being happy is important.

  • Wow leaving a medical school to chase after a uncertain dream of becoming a singer?! That takes a whole lotta courage~

  • Number 1 I did not know that he is Indian Number 2 I did not know that he has an accent! :O

  • Let him do wtv he wants. At least he's happy and not as grumpy and jealous as some of you lot.

  • So if your dream was to get into the music industry, why'd you go to medical school? people go to medical school to pursue the dream of becoming a doctor. If that wasn't your dream then you shouldn't have taken a dream away from another person who could have been in your seat applying to medical school.

  • he was already rich. iam so worried iam poor as fuck and i want to become a dermatologist. . i doubt ill be able to afford medical school

  • He is not an idiot. Its a choice you make in what profession you want to pursue. In this case- he choose Music.

From my personal experience--Its not getting 'in' is the hard part. Its getting "out" is what makes it harder. It truely is a 24 hours lifestyle if you choose to pursue Medicine.

Keep the beats comin Jay Sean!

  • He didn't leave medical school because he anted to. he left because he was in the bottom 20% of his class.

I don;t care for his music, but i too am very very very very very happy that he isn;t responsible for other people's health.

  • who cares if he left medical....i LOVE the fact that he had the guts to actually leave and follow his dream/passion...whats so wrong in that?

  • He took away a dream of someone who could have been in his seat.

  • nice nature ;)

  • He is popular now, in 10 years when he is forgotten, he will regret leaving med school.

  • @safarsafar1234 yea but he will make tons more money than he will if he finished med school ok think about it u have to spend 8 years in med school to

  • @safarsafar1234 Dumbazz think about how much he'll make in that 10 years, probably millions of dollar, he won't need to worry about anything in the future or the rests of his life, he do this because he loves it. Med school prolly wont even help him make as much as he is now or in the future

  • @safarsafar1234 I don't think so buddy. He's doing what he loves doing, he's got financial security...Plus, 10 years is a long time to be doing what you love doing. If I had the chance to do what I love for even one year (to be a professional cricketer), I'd take that up in a second.

  • I feel so sorry for the one that got his place in medical stolen by this man.

  • @eragonsaphira1 I'm curious to what you are referring when you say 'real professionals'? I sincerely hope that isn't your blanket view on all doctors and I wholly reject it. As cliche as it sounds I came to medical school because I wanted to help people in the most basic of needs, to cure and treat where possible, to counsel when not. I can say with hand on heart that I am not training to be a doctor because I want to 'get rich from people suffering'...

  • @eragonsaphira1 There are easier ways to make money without spending years with nose in book and ungodly hours training in hospitals. The NHS pays a set salary based on contract hours regardless of how sick patients are, we have high targets we must reach in all areas, as well as dealing with the high stress and risk that comes with the job. It's not easy, so as for your judgment of 'getting rich off the back of others' I would say you should research a bit more before firing off.

  • @Enecah if that person was commited they would have gotten another chance and if the y deserved it, they would have gotten in- thats how life works

  • DROOL........../

  • cutting up some dude's intestines? How the hell did he get past the med school interview...

  • I can't believe anyone would say he is smart and sexy.... leaving medical school to become a nobody who has nothing... that's just sad. I'm more sympathetic to his parents.

  • i guess some need other ppl's attention to be happy

  • damn smart and sexy

  • I rather graduate medical school, and became a doctor that would be my dream.

  • cuttin' up sum dude intestines ahaha :L x

  • HES BRITISH:)

  • I'm Indian and currently in medical school. If i ever left it, my mom would woop my ass. Major props to you Jay Sean for following your dream! Very few people have that courage to leave a secure future to take a risk for something they love!!

  • @EliteClass88 haha, im indian too and the majority of my family are doctors... i am also planning to attend medical school

  • @EliteClass88

Medicine is anything but secure. I guess the responsibility for another's life is unbearable for some. But, good choice to stick to what he likes rather than take it out on the patients later on....aaaa is it the red one or the blue one im supposed to cut.

  • he reminds me of that guy of jersey shore

  • jason deroulo and jay sean are two different people....?!

  • 2:26 - 3:18

    inspirational

  • Sounds like he's putting on the way he talks when he says 'yo'- wonder if he said that at his med school interview?

  • HE SEXY

  • maybe he can help me with my admissions advise......=)

  • @Sball124 If you need some advise on admission I may be able to assist (I'm a 3rd year med student).

    Good Luck

  • @BooksBySterling i could use some advice haha :P

  • @lightshade0 Hey Lightshade0, I'm listening

  • @lightshade0 Hey. On what? What's your situation?

  • @BooksBySterling well im thinking about going into medical school

  • @lightshade0 Hey. Tell me about yourself so that I can give you the best advice (age, stage, degrees, Uni choice etc). Otherwise I can only give you something generic like "work hard".

  • Id give anything to get into a proper medical school. But you have to love it, you have to love what you do. I'm sure there was a reason he chose med school and rightfully so, theres a reason he chose elsewhere. you dont have control, the heart wants what the heart wants. Just would like to see him finish, u know? that much hard work to get into med school and not follow through? be a musician with an md at the end!

  • i like his british acsenit

  • Good for Jay Sean. Med school is more trouble than its worth IMO. People going to Med School are seriously dedicated and enthusiastic about it or just sick in the head. Seriously I can't imagine spending 24/7 studying that stuff rigerously.

  • well this douche took a deserving applicant's spot

  • You're an idiot. People in this day and age will die to get into a decent medical school.
