I rode the lift with 2 guys that were riding A-Lottas and they both claimed that they handled fairly well on hardpack and could even turn in the trees. When I went to a fatter ski in the spring of 2008 (no longer fat at 96 underfoot) it changed how I ski. Shaped skis with heavy metal laminates suck. I don't like skis that turn themselves. This year wasn't the best year to demo powder skis due to lack of powder and a concussion from work. Next fall I'm demoing these things.
