This series to me is very reminiscent, of the Dr Who/UNIT stories in millions and billions of ways. The red light is later used in the Dr Who story Earthshock which was shown a year later, and also featured James Warwick. I think by doing this story in Dr Who with UNIT, it would fit into the Jon Pertwee years with Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart, Sergeant John Benton and Captain Mike Yates in the story instead of Mike Gaffakin. This Colonel is very similar to Brigadier Lethbridge-stewart.

i had this on dvd once, and it is a great 4 parter,especially interesting to see maurice Roeves and James Warwick, both of whom later apparead with Peter Davison's dr who..
