But people like to preach the second amendment to the US Constitution, 'all citizens have a right to keep and bare arms.' I can see how that might've been helpful when America was one big frontier, but now when it's industrialized? I don't think so.

Also, our founding fathers designed our constitution to allow gun ownership because if in the future the government gets too corrupt or too oppressive, we can overthrow the government and create a new one. If you don't have a gun, you're in trouble because most criminals do, and most of the time the guns that they do have, they got illegally. Not every house in the US has a gun either. Chicago has some of the worst crime in the nation and they also have some of the strictest gun laws. The only people disarmed by gun control laws are the law-abiding citizens.
@GrHellas alot of americans are hunters, however theres no need to carry them in public street which is why they have the highest murder rate among the developed world. Im from canada, I own multiple firearms as do millions of canadians and our murder rate is extremely low
