explanation for those who dont get it:

three things for the "sucker" to do, and magician says i will predict everything you will do and will write it on a piece of paper (without showing the person) and put it in the cup before you actually do it.

first he writes "you will pick the quarter" (he will force the person in the third task to pick the quarter)

then he asks the person to pick a color.

he then writes what color they picked and puts it into the cup. etc etc

I understand how to force them picking the quarter. And I also understand that you aren't forcing them to pick the color of the marker, but why are you writing it down after they said it out loud. When the trick is done two of the three things you wrote down were already established. Is it to hide the fact that the only trick here is the quarter and to make the trick last longer?

okay... it would be easier to understand if you experienced the trick before you learned how to do it. before the magician asks a guy to pick any color marker, he writes down his predicton of what color it will be. its secretly the quarter prediction. when the guy is asked to hold up a number fingers, the magician makes his "prediction". what he realy does is wrties down the last thing that happened (the marker picking). since the predictioins are in a random order in the cup, it seems he wrote

An excellent impromptu trick.

However, I find the most difficult part is getting the first (or last answer, from the spectators point of view) correct, but without making it look fishy! I once did this trick on some friends & one of them (annoyingly) figured it out the next day because of the "suspicious" manner that the last question was asked. Grrr!!

(Come to think of it- its even worse if you're doing this to a group & one person says "I know how's it done").

Okay, heres the thing, when you're actually writting down the "colour" they are gonna pick, you are actually writting down the final part which is whether they pick a quarter or whatever. Then it just goes on, very simple. Smooth talking always help as a magician and an entertainer.

there is a quarter, a dime, and a nickel. you tell them to choose. if they pick the quarter, great.if they pick the dime, you pretend dime, you put it away, as if they had decided to cast it away. and you ask them you choose between the two remaining, namely the nickel and the quarter. once again, if they pick the quarter, great. if they pick the nickel, you put it awqay (as if the choice was: pick the one you don't want...)

The punter choses a coin, the magician turns the punter's 'choice' into what to throw away (leaving the quarter) or what to keep (if he chose the quarter). The punter then thinks he chose what remains though it was really the magician.

it does make sense. he writes the quarter card 1st,(card 1) puts it in cup. audience think card 1 is a prediction about the pen about to be picked. they pick a pen and he sees the colour. he writes that down,(card 2) audience think card 2 is finger prediction. now theres 2 cards in cup. he writes card 3 what audience think is the quarter prediction (but isnt, its the finger one), and all he then has to do is make them pick the quarter. lol apologies if i sound patronising, but duuuuh!!
