this pedal and the Boss FV are just pots. I don't find either one sucks tone (the whole pedal board does, a little... hell, even having an FX loop in your amp circuit alters the tone, but to me it's a small price...
my JB jr broke, that silly little cord is the heart of the thing. Switched to the Boss, it has no little cord to break; rather a direct plastic arm turns the pot... but the unit's too big for my board... dealt with it for 2 years, now the Boss is failing, dammit...
dont believe him this pedal sucks ive used three and had to repair each numerous times dont get something like this get a visual volume pedal much more worth it than these ernie balls they are poor design and terrible to fix
i disagree with you mate the jr models arnt my fav but the normal sized ones are brilliant, comfy, and if its the 500k pot ones you cant go wrong but most the pros use these tbh honest though im using the boss fv500L and i must say the boss and ernie balls are the best going atm(this just my oppinion)
@muse03 I've got this ernie ball jr, and i've found A/B ing the pedal (with and without) that it sucks the top end detail out! not good. was thinking of going for the Boss500.. could u give any advice on which one to get, the L or H?? i'm running a buffered pedal into it and then out into a true bypass pedal. thanks.
@thinwire when you say a/b ing the pedal you mean using the in and both outs?
i used to use the boss fv500l as a volume pedal and it was everything you could ask for were i find the 500h better for expression pedal for my liquid-foot controller
so if your using it for volume pedal get the boss fv500l because this is best in my experiance
@muse03 by 'A/B ing' i mean listening for the difference between the pedal being in line between guitar and amp and then going straight to the amp. To compare the sound. I've gone to great effort in buying a decent power supply and patch cables, only to be undone by the EB Volume pedal. Can you switch between both vol and expression on the H? Or is it one or the other? thanks for the reply.
And that's not a "tuner IN" jack, sorry.
It's a tuner OUT.

how much can you find one of these for generally?
crazyfreak1919 2 years ago
nah its passive, its basically like the volume knob on your guitar or bass. they are real nice, doesnt colour your signal at all, and are real handy!
thisiswhoihappentobe 3 years ago
Does it need power, like other pedals?
therabbit1990 3 years ago 2
lol all it does is make your volume go up and down guys...not much to hear...all you need to find out is if it sucks tone..but i doubt it does

@Rimorox Thanks for the name calling, but I think all I (or anyone else) wanted from this video is demonstrated in v=vxcL0XgBwWk.
