it's not just the parry, but the ability to not let nerves get to him at chip when his opponent has every advantage in the world. I'm not trying to be a fanboy or anything, but people need to give credit where it's due. It was a great comeback, something not many can do even in a clutch moment, and executed perfectly. Just like justin coming back with cyclops in mvc2. People have made comebacks, but it was the execution and stakes involved that made evo moments epic.

Daigo is my favorite SF player to watch, I don't care if he's not the best.

He does things that are impressive and flashy. He's like a boxer that you'd pay to see fight, whether he wins or loses.

For example, this video is boring except for the round that Daigo wins haha.

And obviously he was at his best in 3rd strike in 2003 and 2004, and yes I know that he didn't win those tournments, but he was the most fun to watch fight.
