My family doctor, gave me pills for depression since i was about 10, since then I was on different anti-depressants every 6 months as they either made it worse or did nothing, it was not until about six months ago, I tried to kill myself after I went insane on wellbutrin, and had to spend a night in a mental hospital, and the Psychiatrist at the mental hospital, said I should never have been on those pills at that age. Of course you have a choice, because the FDA has kept these drugs on the market. People with mental disorders should have the right to choose whether or not they want to be screened or drugged, or whether they want to be left alone. The first two are extremly important for catching PPD early. Treatment is still a personal choice with the guidance of a professional. Also you might want to consider having your organization stop pushing drugs to prevent fraud suits.

As for reality, we do not need to do more drug studies on minorities, force treat people with drugs that have been proven ineffective and dangerous. If there were a safe "drug" for PPD I would be all in favor of it. However that is not the case. Part 1 vanished.

My first statement was that I have 5 children. I had postpartum depression with one (but not again after that one). It was horrible. I did not get off the couch for a week, after that it was 2 months before I was better.

I got better without drugs, thankfully, with the support of friends and family.

I think that this should all be between the pregnant woman and her doctor. It should never be given to the government.

I had post partum depression after one of my 5. (I did not have it again for the next child.) I could not even get up off the couch. The severest part lasted a week, then it was 2 months before I was better. I did not take any drugs. I was helped with support of family and friends.

I was holding out hope that there was some reason Clinton had not signed on to the bill when all of the sudden, she signed on this past Monday. I guess the drug company money is more important to her than standing up to Obama and Kennedy to help save our future.

How can that doctor that they interviewed say that with a straight face... we need to identify those who can benefit from treatment... and who exactly would that be?????? Is she illiterate because for the last month I have seen nothing but articles and journal publications sounding the alarm that their drugs do not work and they double the risk of suicide. Who is willing to swallow that? Would this doctor take the pills? I wonder...

yes I am sick of drug ads... just like I am sick of ads for scary death movies... it's all a bit too much like subliminal programming and Lord knows when I popped that pill I had the zoloft ad in my mind, and the impression that it was innocuous like thyroid meds or insulin
