I used to live in Alabama and I hate how whenever there is a thunderstorm, the sirens go off, it gets annoying and scares the dickens out of me at the same time. There is nothing scarier than waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and the sirens are going off and five minutes later BOOM!

Id be scared stiff if i was sitting in my living room and saw that and heard. thank goodness i live in Las Vegas hasn't been a tornado here ever. last year that happened to my friend who lives in Kaunas, she no power so she had no warning, sirens went off, she never made it to safety in time from what i heard it took her along with the house

ours aren't even scary anymore. We got our Federal Signal SD10's replaced with these new fangled digital things.

Our new sirens are lame...I mean, really - you can hear it go off and you're like, oh...they must have spotted a tornado. The old ones were like "CRAP! I gotta get to the basement or else I'm gonna die!"

I don't know what kind the new sirens are but they are stupid!

I've been through too many nasty storms. I love the summer but man I hate the instability. I ran from 2 tornados in 2 weeks a couple years ago. One of them was rainwrapped, the other I could see. In fact each storm spawned like 20 tornados (in Northern Virginia). By chance does anyone know where to find good audio clips or video clips of really really eerie distant tornado/airraid sirens going off. I want something that seriously envokes nervousness.

We have the deadly tornadoes ourselves, and the reason they are deadly is because of a lack of sirens. Several years ago about 50 people were killed in Kissimmee by twisters in the middle of the night.
