  • The Bues Magoos originally from The Bronx, N.Y. (borough known as "The Boogie Down Bronx" now a days) USA! x0]

  • The Smothers Brothers were the best

  • Great ducumet, to not forget the good times...

  • did everyone have bowl haircuts back then?cause they look really cool and go great with those outfits

  • for your about to take a trip.

  • bowls, bangs, german helmets, dutch boys =drummer has greatest hairstyle of the last century (around 2:12)

  • and, don't forget, mr. magoo.

  • And we need to thank Thelma Louise's Beauty Salon for the great hairstyles!

  • Actually, The Ramones were formed in 1974, and none of them were related. Check any Ramones site out and you'll get their real names, etc. Great story, as is that of The Blues Magoos- their vinyl was so much fun! But other than their garage rock roots and the band's use of fake names and a common last name, they're not much like The Ramones.

  • great find, thank's for sharing this amazing document! cheers

  • I saw them play in L.A. in the late 60's. I think it was at a club on Sunset called "The Trip" (no longer there).

  • The concept for this sadly overlooked solid followup to "We Ain't Got Nothin' Yet", was Jeff Beck's improvised live guitar solo on

"For Your Love". You can listen to those lead

lines in this video, however, the camera goes to the bass. Ramones connection? Probably more

linkage to NY's 'Good Rats' 70's band.

  • blues magoos were great at irving plaza.

  • Where's DeeDee and Joey Magoo

  • Excellent question!!!!

Dee Dee and Joey were actually in the Ramones! Although the Blues Magoos preceded the Ramones by almost 10 years, their resemblance was so strong that I was surprised to learn (at least from Wikipedia) that none of their band members were in common (unless I'm missing something).

  • are you guys stupid? the blues magoos are a 60s band while the ramones started in 1975! sure the ramones took a lot from the 60's garage sound but the two bands have nothing to do with each other! come on i mean really blues magoos and ramones!?

  • haha

  • Got to see these guys for free they were with the who and hermans hermit.

and was lucky to meet them all at there hotel and partyed this was back 67 i was 13..

they were the best strobe like show for them times..
