@zygotesix I don't know, maybe it's different for a 15-year-old dealing with a heroin addiction than an older lady with a cocaine addiction, but my close friend was addicted for several years. We kept trying to get his parents to get him in a rehab program and they didn't. He hit rock bottom and OD'd and lives with a foster family 600 miles away now. I just feel that people shouldn't simply watch their family members or friends suffer. I know how hard it is, but there is always SOME way to help.

But for the rest of us who have dealt with addiction personally, or in a close family member, it's not that easy. You can't help people who don't want help. If you run from the situation it makes it worse for the other people who are still there. It's easy to sit there and talk shit about someone for not "handling the situation" but I bet if it was you, you'd have just as much trouble dealing with it.
