  • Awesome track, really fun to play with. just posted a video response, hope you post some more jazz/blues tracks like this.

  • genius!

  • Love that schecter! I play one too.

  • I wonder if a can play that only with the pentatonics and some notes from the other scales (that I don't know actually but somehow i put into my jam)

  • wow! That's music!

  • When the button came up to skip ahead I didn't bother. Very nice playing. It's good to see someone doing clean jazz soloing. You build up a lot of coordination and dexterity when playing complex jazz work clean. When you want to have a bit of fun you can always add a bit of grit and really go for it. : )

  • @928GTSR Right on!! Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!

  • A-MA-ZING i love your playing.... metal blues band

  • @CurryPho Thank you!!! I can't remember the CD name, it was so long ago and regrettably i have lost it. I Know we sell them at the local store so I'll get back to ya ;)

  • good playing man!

  • @musicprodave Thank you!!!!

  • I'm so impressed, smooth and with a lot of feeling!

  • @TheUnforgivenTo Thank you so much for that!!!!

  • bro im roy ., can u make one compstion . just like groove u have ...? is it ok for you i fill in with my soprano sax?

  • @balongpoako That would be sweet!!! I'm pretty busy right now with my Band Lidless Eye recording but if i get a Chance I will throw something up ;)

  • The first chord is actually D Major. Yeah I know all you guys are saying E dorian is D Major but the fact is that an E minor 7 chord is not actually played in this track so the key is D major.

  • Cool sound.

  • Dude, you rock! phenomenal picking and sweeps.

  • Sounds like a jazzy eric johnson! Awesome job man

  • euhh i think it's mostly in D major.... on the Em7 chords you can play E dorian and A myxolydian on the A13... so the modes in this key are D Ionian, E Dorian, F# Phrygian, G Lydian, A myxolydian, B Eolian and C# Locrian! but really nice playing you sound really cool and smooth!!

  • I have been playing for a year...I only really know the pentatonic scale. I love this style of music that you are playing and I would like to know what scales do I need to know in order to play it.

  • @Swiftkillah1300 I should have a Lesson in my vids on this vid with a lesson on what I am playing here.

You need to know the Major scale and it's 7 modes. Then learn the Pentatonic scale and it's 5 modes. Put it all together and you have my playing field on here.

  • @Swiftkillah1300 E dorian...D major

  • E dorian and A mixolydian really give it a cool twist

  • loving it! excellent playing and great fun to jam over :)

  • holy crap you're amazing. what scales are you using? Im new to modes.

  • Thanks so much for this video ! I really liked your solo at the beginning and then you let us the possibility to improve our own solos as well....Cool song, Cool jazzy jam!

  • Thanks for that!

  • wow cool! I like your approach

  • What scales are you paying over EM7 and A13? (great sound)

  • Thank You! I am playing the Major scale. I am playing in the Key of G Major which is E Minor.

I am using the Aeolian Mode at first then using some chord tones for lead lines... Also a Lot of Pentatonic modes.

Check out the Lesson Video Cool Jazzy Jam with Lesson!!!

I talk about technique and some riffs I play.

  • Actually no, I don't think E harm would work. I was thinking of E minor.

  • @highintel

    Hello!

I think B minor fits more...since the A13 could be seen as the 7th chord of B-minor or the 5th chord of A major...anyway both scales have similar notes, but the C note doesnt sound right over the A13 chord.

Anyhow, great backing and thank you for uploadaing it :)

    Greetings!

  • @highintel g major won't work as well as g lydian if you play lydian then that #4th makes the 7th note of the d major scale.

  • @leadimprov

think of this as chord 2 and chord 5 of d major. so d major and all the modes based from that scale.

  • @leadimprov think of this as chord 2 and 5 of d major. so d major and any of its modes will work.

  • You rule! Thanks for giving us hacks a chance to jam over this!

  • Any time ;) I may do another one soon!

  • This should have 4 billion views! Love it!

  • Thank you!!

  • @trips2wn Dang, Thank you!
