  • goddam rip

  • Rest In Peace Smokin Joe

  • This was when boxing was exciting because you some of the greatest fighters going for the World Heavyweight Title. Ali Frazier & Foreman where the three top fighters to hold the title

  • The fight with Muhammad Ali in 1971 took a lot from Frazier, in fact Frazier was never the same after such a beating he got that fight. Although Frazier won the fight, he took too much punishment from Ali in their first fight. Then Frazier was completely finished after their third fight in Manila. That was Frazier's last great performance. In a way Ali ruined Frazier's career after they first met.

  • what a hero!

continuing to fight even after being knocked down so many times

  • Foreman the greatest

  • 1st time I have seen a man rise off his feet after a punch!

  • Man idc if frazier lost he had heart to keep getting up 6 times.

  • oh my god 6 kd

  • Frazier took a pounding in the first fight even though he won and was never the same after that. I already told you about the second fight. And while both men crippled each other in Manila, Ali pounded Frazier from rounds 11-14 decisively which proved to be the deciding factor and Frazier was forced to submit. This trilogy was close, only a biased fan like yourslef would say Frazier whooped Ali 3 times. Ali's hard earned 2-1 record against Joe begs to differ.

  • @vladiator100 You must be responding to the wrong post. I have NEVER once stated in any way, shape or form that Frazier "whooped" Ali 3 times, and would agree with the judges in the first two fights right down the line, with the 3rd fight ending with the TKO in Manilla in the third. Frazier did win the first,..but was never quite the same after...so it seems we are in agreement and not opposed in our opinion(s). Pick your fights with those against you..it makes more sense.

  • @nate63able WHAT? Aren't you responding to wrong post? LOL I was talking to himynameisross guy...I think it was him who said Frazier whooped Ali 3 times which obviously shows he's a Frazier fan.

  • Comment removed

  • man FORMAN is the HARDEST PUNCHER EVER

  • You kids arguing is funny. Foreman would have whooped regardless if Frazier was in his prime or not... Frazier has always been a chump for dodging fights. This just shows why.. Because he can't take a hit from someone who knows what they're doing with that power

  • @Acolis lol who has he ducked an old liston a shavers who got obliterated by quarry and stander, two guys joe steamrolled. what would be the point of joe fighting lyle if he had the opportunity to fight ali. and if joe had no chin how did he take so much punishment in manila? ali isnt a soft puncher. go get a life and stop shitting on a man who is greater than you can ever dream of being

  • why the music????

  • Frazier was too small and can't reach Foreman, also lacked defensive maneuver.

  • Cosell " I guess we will find out tonight how much the Ali fight took out of Frazier!" Cosell was on the money, the first Ali fight took it all out of Frazier! He was never the same fighter he once was after it. Just a few months before the Foreman fight, he fought a guy called Joe Bugner, a british champ, a guy Frazier would have ate up at his best. But he almost lost, really struggled. Here he is well in decline and overweight, I wish people understood Foreman never beat the REAL FRAZIER!

  • @XavierMarciano

Complete and utter bullshit. There was nothing from Frazier's previous performances that suggested he was in a real decline and Frazier wasnt much heavier here than when he beat Bob Foster. And no,the Bugner fight wasn't close - Bugner didnt win more than three rounds.

Foreman beat the real Frazier and this is how this fight would always play out.Frazier spent his entire career being protected from punchers and this is what happens when he eventually stepped up.

  • @tapiaassasin This isn't the real frazier, this is not prime frazier! Frazier is 29 in this fight closing in on 30 he's well past his best. Pocket heavyweights like Frazier are at their best between 24-28 years old tops usualy, and they finish at around 32 years old. Prime Frazier was when he beat Quarry the first time back in 68, or maybe his first fight with Ellis. Joe was overweight here also, his best weight is 209lbs. In the time after Ali fight, Joe fought only twice, cont...

  • @XavierMarciano frazier would fall the same way he did with all hard punchers like shavers, liston, which he never fought, . and most powerfull puncher off all time forman, he beat his ass like bitch

  • @kkhunter87 I don't waste time on idiots who think Shavers could beat Frazier. Shavers was a hack who got his ass knocked out by 197lbs light puncher Jerry Quarry. The reason Frazier lost to Foreman was because he couldn't get inside. Watch Frazier vs Foreman closely. George pushes off Joe everytime he begins to get inside, Foreman then unloads his bombs at the end of his long 82 inch reach. Foreman fought a smart fight here. Shavers is different he's short and glass jawed.

  • @XavierMarciano ask ur self why he could not get inside, it becasuse he has no brain....none whatsover, all he do is like come like bull for entire match , the is why he cant survive hard puncher like shavers, liston , and forman

  • @XavierMarciano Dont worry man this guys comments on every frazier video. He is a complete ass who does not have the slightest clue what he is talking about.

  • @XavierMarciano Yeah people forget that Frazier was never the same after his first fight with Ali. That was Frazier's maximum peak. After that it was downhill, even though he defeated Ali in their first meeting, Ali applied a beating on Frazier that he spent a month in the hospital. In retrospect Frazier "sold" his soul in beating Ali because while he notched the win he took some serious beating by Ali. Similar to what happened in Manila, both finished each other

  • @vladiator100 That would be my thoughts on Frazier also, he was well past his best by the Foreman fight. I hate idiots who question Fraziers chin and fighting ability, especially those who say he would lose to every mammoth puncher just because he was destoyed by Foreman. They haven't got the common sense to realise Joe was well on the slide and that Foreman fought a very smart fight, pushing off and unloading his punches at the end of his very long reach. Joe's an underated HW.

  • @tapiaassasin Cont.. In those two fights he fought weak opposition, a bum by the name of Ron Stander and an average british champ Joe Bugner. Joe also had considerable ring rust going into the Foreman fight. His style meant he was almost used up by the time he was closing in on 30. Styles make fights and George Foreman would always beat Joe Frazier like this or similiar at least, I agree with that. Simply pointing out this wasn't a peak Frazier.

  • @XavierMarciano

You're complaining about ring rust and a fighter "closing in on 30",yet the one and only elite fighter that frazier ever beat was in the same situation, yet I bet you dare wouldn't attempt to discredit that would you?

You judge a fighter based off of his performances, and there was nothing about frazier that suggested he was on the decline going into the foreman fight.Bugner was a solid top ten contender throughout the 70's.

  • @tapiaassasin You missed all of my points entirely. First of all Ali isn't a pocket heavyweight! You totally misunderstood my statement. Pocket heavyweights don't last as long, factor in also that Frazier's style meant he took punches and it doesn't take a genius to work out he was well in decline by almost 30. Plus Ali had two fights before Frazier, Bonavena and Quarry both far superior than Stander and Bugner. Bugner was very average a 68 Frazier would have stopped him cont..

  • @XavierMarciano

No,he was a fighter that relied sorely on his reflexes, had no traditional schooling and had lost a significant amount of his foot speed.Ali had boxed a total eighteen rounds in four years, after having being totally inactive through a three and a half year period.

There is no evidence on film to suggest a significant decline gong into the foreman fight, and considering Bugners known durability and cautious style,I very much doubt that.

  • @tapiaassasin I beg to differ, by the time Frazier got to Bugner a great deal of what made him a special fighter was diminishing. His durability to take a punch had dropped, his hunger for the sport had dropped, his punching power had lost a lot of it's pep, his conditioning had also dropped. Frazier stopped being Frazier in early 71. Joe had two goals when he went pro, become world champ. Which he did, then the second arose prove he was the champ and beat Ali cont...

  • @XavierMarciano

His durability? Because Foreman slapped him around and stopped him inside two rounds? That isn't the case of his durability diminishing - thats a case of a man that made a career out of avoiding punchers for a reason and finally got exposed when he did fight one.

Fighters decline(something you failed to acknowledge Ali doing so during his long layoff) but you're grossly exaggerating fraziers decline.Frazier never proved a respectable chin against a true puncher

  • @tapiaassasin i see you on every videos criticizing Frazier. How can you hate Joe Frazier. Hes one of the nicest and most humble athletes ever. Oh yeah i know why people hate him...he wooped ali 3 times.

  • @HiMyNameIsRoss

Certainly wasnt nice when he was slapping around the mother of his youngest son just a couple of years ago.Correction: he fought ali three times...and lost two decisively. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with me pointing out that foreman was the first and only puncher frazier ever fought.frazier simply didnt have the chin to take foremans punches.

  • @tapiaassasin ? How much could slapping around could old feeble 67 year old Joe frazier done. I mean it could not of been bad since all charges were acquitted dumbass. I mean he wasnt a womanizer like ali, who was a notorious womanizer. Frazier couldnt a punch? Lmao, get a tape of Thriller in Manila where Frazier took as much punishment as anyone ever could AND STILL beat ali so bad he nearly quit.

  • @HiMyNameIsRoss

All charges were dropped because the woman who frazier attacked didn't go through with them, you fucking idiot. And in that case, nothing further can be done by the police. And you think that is comparable to womanizing? LMFAO.

frazier got the shit beaten out of him the third time around and looked close to being knocked out and DID quit,so I suppose that cancels out making somebody nearly quit.

  • @tapiaassasin And as for the second fight...man do you know the rules of boxing? Well holding behind the head is quite illegal and ali held Joe's held 157 (yes I did count lol) times in the fight. This did not allow Joe to do his signature body work. The win was controversial as is, with many boxing experts at time being outraged because they scored him winning the bout.

  • @HiMyNameIsRoss

You know what else is illegal? Kidney punches, and Frazier was very, very prone to using them often enough.on a scoring basis there is nothing controversial about it at all.the vast majority of those press row had it scored for ali by a reasonably comfortable margin.frazier generally had a difficult time cutting the ring off and was beaten to the punch on a consistent basis.

  • @tapiaassasin The ref also saved Frazier from being knocked out by Ali in the second round. Ali staggered Frazier and backed him off into the ropes but the ref thought the round was over and stopped Ali's attack. And this guys clearly is talking out of being biased. Only one "expert" as he claims scored the fight for Frazier 6-5-1 and that was a newspaper writer. Clearly he has no future a judge. Ali took the second fight by a mile. Scorecards 9-3, 7-4-1, 8-4 all for Ali.

  • @vladiator100

That newspaper writer may have been Red Smith, who never really cared for Ali during his career. The general consensus ringside was that Ali had won by,in the very least, two points.I know the associated press scored it 8-4 to him.

  • @tapiaassasin ......Ali complained about a lot of things in his career but you never heard him say anything about kidney shots. If it did affect the bout Ali would be the first to let you know. He never once complained about it BECAUSE IT DIDNT HAPPEN. Your really a fucking dumbass.

  • @tapiaassasin your a fucking cunt you go on every fraier video and say he sucks and has no chin meanwhile he is considered a top te hw and the most aggressive/relentless fighter in hw history. i gues you know more than experts and historians. any aggressive fighter would get killed by foreman. go learn about boxing dirty cunt

  • @tapiaassasin cont... which Frazier also achieved. Once Joe beat Ali he had nothing left to prove, his hunger significantly dropped. You may think Joe was as great here as he was 4 years earlier, I don't believe that. He had physically and mentally declined by this point. This is something you and I will never agree on.

  • @tapiaassasin cont.. For all the reasons I have stated their is ample proof Frazier was in the twilight stages of his career, he was on a considerable slide. Foreman's style and incredible power means he would more than likely do the same to a prime Frazier, just pointing out this wasn't a peak Frazier.

  • r.i.p frazier your a legend

  • year?

  • I'm proud to be a Frazier <3 even though im not related to him haha

  • Frazier went lifting coins; with the gloves on ..... XD

  • The referee was totally incompetent. Foreman almost killed Joe in this fight. Foreman used his height, ARM length, and incredible punching power to literally beatdown a gamé Smokin' Joe. Joe was by far the superior boxer, but Foreman was justo too nog and hit too hard. Ali couldn't hit like Foreman, plus Ali was too arrogant too use his send to keep Joe out of range. Foreman was a crude big man with heavy, heavy hands. If Foreman has developed some of Joe Frazier's skill he would have beat Ali

  • @MrFarangKorat No Sir,the ref was not incompetent,in a title fight you must give a champion every chance, especially if he keeps getting up,you must show a champion that respect.George foreman was a better boxer than you think, and he didnt lose to Ali because of lack of skill,he lost because the rope a dope drained him.George always had stamina problems,if Joe coulda taken him into tha latter part of this fight, the outcome might have been different..

  • Getting knocked down six times is not testament to having a good chin.Somebody with a great chin, like a chuvalo, wouldnt get knocked down that many times in the first place.

  • @tapiaassasin But in fact Joe frazier did have a good chin, he showed his solid chin against muhammad ali.

  • DOWN GOES FRAZIER DOWN GOES FRAZIER!! my favorite :)

  • @MrLukedanger 3:09 run Joe run!!!

  • Fight should've been stopped in the first round Jesus, frazier was out of it aftet the second knockdown, should've been stopped before the 3rd knockdown frazier could've been killed.

  • He didn't get knocked down 8 times, he got up 8 times. As someone pointed out, 21 years later Michael Moorer didn't get up from one of these punches thrown by a 45 year old Foreman. That is a testament to the toughness of Joe Frazier

  • "I think him hurt Joe Frazier"

"DOWN GOES FRAZIER,DOWN GOES FRAZIER,DOWN GOES FRAZIER!!"

George foreman no techiniche,no speed, but a amazing strenth,is incrible the last punch frazier like fly!

  • i dont think the fight shd have been called - smokin joe was gettin his second wind

  • I don't believe Foreman cold have knocked out Joe, down yes but not out.

  • Its hard to watch that today. But Joe earned respect in horrible defeat cause if they didn't stop it he would've just kept getting up. It's one thing to have skill but heart you cannot buy, and Smoking Joe had a ton of it. If only Lebron James had an ounce! R.I.P. Joe

  • Joe got up every time. This is a testament to his chin.Foreman was a BEAST anyone else getting hit like this (with the exception of Ron Lyle) would not have made it back on their feet. R.I.P. SMOKING JOE

  • i thought it was epic music

  • Wow.

  • The background music is very annoying. I'm off to watch the fight elsewhere on YT

  • R.I.P great champion Joe Frazier.

  • Rip Joe....... Down goes Frazier..Down goes Fraizer

  • RIP Smokin' Joe Frazier - Foreman was a monster at that stage of his career but total respect to smokin' joe he would have carried on fighting to the last. True great!!!

  • Unbelievable fighter. Great era in boxing. Bye Joe, thank you.

  • 3:11- Foreman cheap shot.

  • RIP Joe Frazier, even though Im not old enough to see some of your classic fights live back in the day, I did see many of the re runs on ESPN Classic like"thrilla in Manilla" and the "down goes frazier call" and you will always be one of the top 5 to 7 boxers ever in my opinion.

  • although he was knocked down time and time again, smokin' joe always, always popped back up.... rest in peace, smokin' joe....

  • Frazier would have lasted a lot longer if he was fresh and he went in with a better game plan, he thought he can throw punches vs foreman but no way.... RIP Joe, you were still greatness by definition

  • Joe was a CHAMPION.

This clip say it is so, Even though Foreman knocked him to the canvas '6' times Joe got up '6' times.

This man was heart, courage, and a noble competitor.

    R.I.P., Joe.

From an Ali AND Frazier fan. Both were warriors.

  • R.I.P Fraizer From Norway

  • Rest in Peace Smokin Joe

  • Frazier stood at the perfect punch range/zone for foreman, in close he would not have been hit as much and could have been more effective or out of range

  • How many times have we heard Howie say, "DOWN GOES FRAZIER!" Those words have rung in ears for generations. If you look at Friazier, he was out of shape compared to the first Ali fight. FRazier was never the same after Ali/Frazier I. In addition, the news of Frazier's health is so sad, but what is worse is ESPN's limited coverage of the man, especially after what he went through as a result of Ali dodging the draft.

  • wow, lo puso a recoger moneditas verdad? con los guantes puestos claro XD !!

  • great video man, love u joe

  • im surprised joe frazier doesnt have the same problems later in life like Ali this man took beatings straight brutal !

  • MUHAMMAD ALI! THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!

  • end sucks when the bitch sings like a whore

  • This film is speeded up.

    Don Dunphy's voice shows that.

  • @marcxopoco No it's not. The voice couldn't ever show that either because it's edited separately from the video. It's not sped up anyway. The audio is just interwoven with the video.

  • @IronTapeProductions It's clear that the audio is not synchromized with the video.

The video (visual) is speeded up. As are MANY on youtube.

Compare to other filmings of this same fight.

  • @marcxopoco You are right. The audio is not synchronized with the video because I mixed two different audio sources together. Have you ever heard this fight being called by Don Dunphy and Howard Cosell at the same time? It's not sped up.

  • I wondered about Dunphy and idiot Howard CoSELL on the same broadcast. Dunphy would really have hit the skids if he allowed that.

When Frazier knocked Ali flat on his back did Ali salesman CoSELL say, "Ali is down. Ali is down. Ali is down." ?

  • @marcxopoco you're out of your mind. The video feed is NOT SPEEDED UP one millisecond...nor is the ABC call by Cossell or the via satellite call by Dumphee. Where you get this stuff. Now, this specially prepared HD "highlight" might skip from sequence to sequence, but in terms of what is occuring on the screen versus what occured in the ring...it is right on mark. I suppose man never walked on the moon either...right?

  • Youtube halfwit @nate63able writes about Dumphee. LOL

  • @marcxopoco probably why that annoying music is playing over it.

  • Joe Frazier was kinda cool.

  • sorry but everytime i watch this fight i always think joe frazier does a little hoe down (see 3:10) and i burst out laughing

  • Nice edit

  • "...and Foreman is as POISED as can be!!"

"Foreman is going about his JOB!!!!!"

"Frazier doesn't know where he IS!!!"

    Christ, Cosell was good.

  • frazier is a warriorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • 5 guys...what is wrong with you??? oh maann.....:/

  • Sick video, but what's that very last song with the choir at the last 20 seconds or so?

  • lol,, @ 3:10 frazier starts running,,,lol

  • who had more heart than frazier? name one fighter

  • (don't you stop this fucking fight, and his corner not knowing ali had already quit saw that joe couldn't see anything and stopped it going against joe, Joe won that fight . So before anyone rights off Joe as one Of the all time greats remember that, I personally believe if he had both eyes he would've handled ali and would have no doubt been an unstoppable force

  • joe frazier was amazing, most people don't know in this fight and almost every fight throughout his entire career he was completely blind in one eye, and its amazing when he fought ali in manilla his other became swollen almost completely shut so his corner stopped it because it was good eye so he was fighting ali pretty much without any sight at all in the late rounds of that fight and he would've one because ali gave up and told his corner to cut his gloves off, while joe told his corner (don't

  • pause at 1:03 until you get it just right . Foreman looked like the fucking hulk my god he was huge

  • @MMAsavedME I know he claims he never lifted weights i doubt that, he's is ripped

  • you needed to be a all time great skilled boxer like ali or a crazy monster like foreman to beat joe

  • They should have interviewed Joe after this fight.

Howard: Do you agree with the stoppage?

    Joe: Philly steak with cheese.

    Howard: Who is president?

    Joe: Lincoln freed the slaves.

Howard: How many sides in a triangle.

Joe: Two. Make that two Philly steaks to go.

  • Foreman was a MURDERER in his prime. Geez. He was a killa.

  • joe got tagged, THATS ALL FOLKS

  • very well done! What is the name of the program and the video effect you used at 2:46 that stretches their skin outwards and morphs??

  • ali=speed frezier=strengh foreman=strengh, clearly frezier was tired or something.

  • @michelesempre1 frazier strength? frazier was a take your best give you harder you hit fast i hit faster you take a good punch i take harder you have stamina i have more. he took your heart. people try and compair holyfield to frazier but they are very diffeent.

  • @MrLukedanger very true I prefer Joe over Holyfield. Joe almost died three times in his career in the ring. Almost died after the FOTC with ali very well could have died from this fight with Foreman. If you watch the original version you can hear Angelo Dundee screaming "Stopo the fight!Hes gonna kill him!" and we all no Joe was on the brink of death after the thriller in manila. When you fought Joe it was a fight to the death. Joe also fought clean...no head butts.

  • no music!

  • i wonder how this would hav ended if frazier prepared properly for this fight and foreman fought "legally" (read sonnytrane's comment for this, he explained it very well and I dont want to write it again)

  • George also had some help from the ref Mercante, who allowed him to push, shove and hold. These are illegal tactics. The only way a fighter can get true separation is to punch, move or be separated by the ref. There's no room for wrestling tactics in boxing. Clinching is legal, only by the refs discretion. Foreman's holding was excessive and he got away with it. Still, Joe's at fault himself for not properly preparing for this fight and underestimating Foreman's skills.

  • George did exactly what he was supposed to do. Keep Joe from getting close and don't let him get into rhythm. George knew that Joe wasn't the same fighter from the first Ali fight and was quoted as saying Frazier was "ready to be had." Furthermore, George said in interviews that he would have lost this fight if he faced the same fighter of the late 60s to the FOTC. Another thing, Joe didn't take his training seriously for this fight believing he'd handle George's size and jab with ease.

  • AWESOME!

  • Great job man!! Thumbs up!! =)

  • wish heavyweights are like this today..

  • Joe went in there with a death wish..... and nearly got it.

  • I wish i could see this kind of boxing today... Nowadays boxing is pretty low level then it used to be..

  • Fraizer has the biggest heart ever,he got up from all those devestating punches right away and charged Foreman, You'll never find a braver man. No way in hell Foreman would win with a KO if the fight would continue, Foreman would probably get tierd after 10 more knock downs were Fraizer gets up and then lose, like he did against Ali

  • Now that's what I call a asswhoop'n

  • Frazier amazingly looked as if he could still have gone another 10 rounds while being knocked down by Foreman repeatedly....he didn't look glassy eyed one bit...its like ok, he's knocked me down this many times...now he has to knock me down another 6 times and I'll see what happens...

  • @vladiator100 You are joking...right? Joe fought on admirably...but after the last knockdown...he looks on the verge of a heart attack...death...or both...in that order. Angelo Dundee was literally screaming from ringside.." stop it! Stop the fight!!!...he's going to kill him!!!...Stop the fight!!!" One can literally hear him during the broadcast if you listen closely...and Cossell even comments on Dundee's concern for Joe's life during his famous call for ABC. Another six times? Really?

  • @nate63able Don't blow a fuse kid. Its a figure of speech to Frazier's incredible heart, grit and determination and to the fact that Frazier was getting up so many times and refused to be counted out. Everyone knows about the Dundee screams, you aren't telling me anything I didn't already know...

  • @vladiator100 OK Fair enough. Believe it or not, I loved Ali, Frazier, and Foreman equally, and we will undoubtedly never see a better or deeper Heavyweight division that we had during that time. Three undefeated amatuers who each won the gold medal in successive Olympics from 1960-1968, then went on to compiling undefeated records and winning the heavyweight titile in the same exact procession as well: first Ali, whose first defeat came against Joe, who lost it to the undefeated Foreman. Wow!

  • don't forget, joe frazier got up every single time... the chin on that man my god.

pure heart and class, even in defeat.

  • @deejaykgb Yeah, Joe's brains got scrambled but he got up. His left hook just caught air. A longer reach was key for Foreman here too. Afterwards Joe minimized this loss. It was no big deal. "I just got caught," he said. As if to say it was a lucky punch by George. Could have happened to anyone. He never fully realized how beaten he was to everyone else. He got slaughtered.

  • @deejaykgb ok heart doesnt mean you have a chin. a chin is when you take punches from powerpunchers. if you cant take a punch from a powerpuncher than you dont really have a strong chin. frazier kept getting up cuz he got heart and his chin is NOT glass. joe couldnt take foremans puches or else he would of won.

  • @deejaykgb True, but in my opinion Ali had the best chin....he had heart but not as much heart as Frazier. That's what made those three fights between him and Ali so unique, so brutal! They were almost evenly matched speed and wit vs strength and determination. Frazier feared absolutely no one in the ring, Foreman admitted in an interview that he was scared shitless of him, no matter how hard you hit Joe he'd come back even harder. Him and Ali gave everything they had left in that last fight.

  • frazier was a fucking warrior he would have died in there before giving up he jumped up everytime

  • The reason why Frazier lost this fight is Muhammad Ali. After his first fight against Ali, Frazier was never the same...even though Frazier won the fight on points Ali hurt him to the point he had to spend one month in the hospital after the fight, the fight really took a lot out of him....

  • @jennifer8970 agree, but do you think prime frazier beats foreman, styles dont match up

  • @messier991102 The 71 Frazier who was able to outpoint Ali would beat Foreman no doubt(even though it cost him career wise by beating Ali). Even Foreman said so, I can't remember the exact quote but foreman said that on that night Frazier would beat any heavyweight competing in the 70s. He was too good in 71. Im not saying Foreman's victory was a fluke or anything but its clear Frazier was not the same after Ali I.

  • @jennifer8970

Joe Frazier, even in his biggest wins over Jimmy Ellis and Muhammad Ali, always made a slow start.

A short, slow starting fighter who wades in, head first, against George Foreman - a very fast starter - is always going to get blown away.

  • @BruceinFalkirk True, but I can see a 71 Frazier going the distance against Foreman in 73. He never was the same after fighting Ali. But yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if Foreman still beat a 71 Frazier, I just think he would have lasted longer maybe even beat Foreman in 71.

  • @jennifer8970

Possibly he would have gone longer but a slow start against big George is really asking for trouble.

  • What's the name of the song in the last minutes?

  • Still stands as one of the most brutal beatdowns in boxing history. Salute Frazier for his heart!

  • frazier is a warrior, he never quit

  • Joe Frazier was tailer made for George Foreman. A little man who came at you and swapped punched with you. Not the style you go with when fighting Foreman, which is why he destroyed him each time they fought. Ali had the only strategy that worked.

  • music?

  • @Grasscity Two Steps From Hell - Calamity, Anno Domini - Requiem For A Lost

  • good for the first music ;) !! But for the last music.... is wrong :s

I don't know me too, so pleaz help !!!!

  • @IronTapeProductions stop with the dumb music just put the clip up

  • piece of history

    great athletes both

  • Can u put the name of the music?

  • mynameisRoss; is a jock strap snifer

  • Down goes Bin Laden!

  • Frazier was hit by a truck...

  • in respect to joe he just came out of a 15 round ali fight and never got to hit him with 1 solid left hook but still foremans got very good chin size reach power no way fraziers style could beat foremans.

  • @boxing4life1000

The Ali fight was in 1971, this one in 1973

  • @BruceinFalkirk yeah but that 15 round took alot out of frazier he wasnt at his best he came in to heavy didnt know about foreman and ali fight messed him up even tho with all that i dont see frazier beating foreman but their second frazier changed his style of coming in and lasted around about 5 rounds and foreman was very tired if that was frazier in his prime for that fight who knows.

  • @boxing4life1000

If Frazier was in his prime, he would have made a slow start, like he did against Ali and Ellis and waded in, head first, like he always did.

He would have lost my complete and total massacre, just the same because you can't smoke George Foreman, young George or old George. It just can't be done

  • @BruceinFalkirk ABSOLUTELY SOUND, CORRECT ANALYSIS. Maybe the oldest wise saying about boxers is: Styles for fighters and horses for races. Frazier's style was just absolute disaster against the bigger, stronger, younger Foreman..and when two forces like those collide...well...we have the result in living color. Excellent comments.

  • @nate63able

The whole fight is like a forerunner of Monty Python's Black Knight sketch.

Poor old Joe's reputation for toughness counted against him here.

He could have been rescued, without complaint, after the 4th or 5th knockdown.

  • @boxing4life1000 ur right there frazier was doing quite wel aganist foreman then using alot more head movement but i wouldnt say george was very tired just frustrated. hell if joe draged it in to the double digit rounds so from 10 onwards then i think george would be his

  • @BruceinFalkirk bro a beating like that takes ages to recover from

  • @boxing4life1000

    nearly 2 years to recover?

  • Good vid!

  • Ali beat George because he had stradegy. Frazier nearly got killed because he had none whatsoever

  • We may mention fights like this.Currently, we watch jokes.
