Don't worry too much about getting facts right about Mormonism, @Kousaburo. There are 14+ million Mormons and if you were to ask all of them to answer one doctrinal question on Mormon beliefs, you'd likley get 14 million different answers.

The only thing you need to know is the fact that they won't allow you into their heaven unless you commit to pay them at least 10% of your income--FOR LIFE--and ALL your possessions---if/when they ask for it !

I was LDS for 50+ years (ACTIVE). Mission to Australia -- BYU, married in the temple, bishopric, SS teacher and leader, etc.--and what Kousaburo said was correct except for a couple insignificant details. The gold plates were found on a hill a couple miles away, and Joe CLAIMS to have been led to them--nit-pickin.

Using it as evidence of Jesus' visit and Amerinds as Israelites and blacks as cursed is DEAD ON!
