Great piece of film, but a real shame it's the version with the US dialogue dubbed over the top of the Ozzie soundtrack. Goose sounds very very odd. And as for the Toecutter...
Not originally, I think. When I bought it on video the first time (sometime in the nineties, I guess), there was a little bit in the corner of the cover in bright yellow, saying 'Original Australian Dialogue!' as if it was something new and amazing.
On my DVD copy you can change the audio track form the Oz to the US versions- it actually begins with the US soundtrack as a default...
Shit hot film though, with the original soundtrack or not. :)
Upon further investigation, these are Alpinestars Hi-point boots. I'm still trying to determine if you can still get a similar pair in production today.
Okay, so I know this movie is almost 30 years old, but does anybody know if you can still get a pair of boots like that. Gotta love those chrome shinguards. I know they might just be a movie prop, but I figure it's worth asking. No luck google-ing so far.
MFP = Mother Fuc*ing Police
(cause they were badasses)
Yeah the Goose was one of the coolest characters, next to Mad Max

Goose rules. They should do a film about him and his exploits pre Mad-Max.

Why did they dub this Johnny's voice is what makes his character. Gives him that half insane feel.

Sing this while moving your tongue from side to side in your mouth
I love to play My ol banjo
And rest it on my knee
But now my strings are broke and its no more use to me
I took it to the menders shop
to see what he could do
He said your strings are broken
and its no more use to you

its called My Old Banjo:
I l-l-l-love to play-lay-lay-lay my ol-ol-ol-old banjo
And rest it on my knee
But now my strings are broken
And it's no use to me
I took it to the mender's shop
To see what he could do
He said the strings are broken
And it's no more use to you
