  • I love the weight listing for Buddy Rose 217(?) lbs...Classic!

  • Rose was one of the best workers in the business. Too bad he never got his due. We were sure lucky to have him in the Pacific NW and Portland Wrestling.

  • @Chawman

I agree. I was Lucky enough to see him wrestle in Seattle as a kid...A Legend in the Ring that deserves so much more credit then he gets...

  • I wasn't even alive when this match took place. Seeing wwe now and watching some old wwe and other wrestling matches makes me wish I was

  • glad to see the Flyers lost ?

  • 1:44 I LOL'ed at "217(?) lbs"

  • Wow they had one whole camera angle lol

  • We call this "The Massacre at St. Paul."

  • good match

  • I remember watching this on t..v. back then. Certainly a classic match. You knew that each match between the Rockers and Rose and Sommers was more than likely going to be bloody. On a side note what was once the Showboat Casino and Hotel has been nothing but a dirt lot for the past several years.

  • 4:48

That was Sweet Chin Music, wasn't it?

  • Even then, Shawn Michaels was good at selling. He is so amusing to watch sometimes.

  • I remember this match! Holy crap I'm old..lol...awesome match though! :)

  • omg shawn it's hurt

  • Man,Playboy Buddy Rose was svelte

  • This is one of the best matches in AWA history

  • Pure classic match 5 stars!

  • This was one of the epic matches that changed the way wrestling matches are booked today.

  • One of the things that made the match seem so important was the voice of the late great Rod Trongard. One of the best play-by-play announcers in the business.

  • Great match.

They always made you feel that the next time the Rockers would win the AWA Titles.

I remember watching this when I was 19.

Rose and Summers were the 2 crafty cagey ring veterens and the Rocker were young and up coming stars.

This is one of the many things missing today

  • @MrBlackSW There were times when he would get the athletes names mixed up and he was at times a little repetitious, which he caught a lot of criticism for, but in my opinion it didn't matter, he had that voice, the voice of a professional always lending credibility to a sport that had very little. I liked him better than Gordon Solie, and I thought Gordon was incredible. I would say the three best in the biz were Rod, Bob Caudle, and Gordon. There is no maturity in wrestling anymore, just boys.

  • @7Boogiewoogie What about J.R.,Lance Russell?

  • The BLOODBATH begins at 5:07 by Pretty Boy as he rams HBK into the steel part of that turnbuckle.

  • I'm surprised that this match DIDN'T make the top of the AWA of all time.... I watched this match from start to finish.... WOW!!!

  • Thanks for posting this vid
