I was a middle school teacher for a period of time so I feel pretty strongly about this. Obviously light-hearted teasing or teasing with no real malicious intent to hurt or damage the person definitely doesnt fit being a crime. Maybe then tell the kid to suck it up and deal with it. But extreme, malicious forms of bullying (you know the type that leads to kids contemplating and/or committing suicide) should be a crime. I cant see any arguments someone could have against that.

Rape is a crime and the fact is there are far too many similarities between rape and extreme bullying. Having the school take care of it should be the first option but it is still too unreliable to be the only option.
