so how does the actual stealth system work.... in all other video's i've seen it's obvious where the recon's are whilst in stealth.... but in this.... they like... walk right past you, im quite confused now haha But great game play ;]

is it really better to snipe people in their back at close range, rather than using your melee weapon?

If you're sniper-spec, chances are your sniper does more damage than your melee weapon, since typically snipers won't waste points on the skills to improve melee damage. You also get the benefits of both a) staying out of immediate sight (the 3rd person camera does offer a slight amount of vision of someone meleeing you from behind) and b) debuffing their defenses (a feature of the sniper rifle I'm using here), thus making it easier for others to kill them as well.

In the first video your shooting wasn't particularly good, but that was primarily because you were trying to shoot people on the point from that little walkway beside it, which wasn't nearly far enough.

You REALLY picked up in THIS video, though. Nice gameplay demonstration.

Honestly the first portion of the video was mostly focused on breaking up the turret nest covering that first point - until the medcrates are down, focusing on individuals isn't nearly as effective. (Especially when there is cover to move behind while the medcrates are healing.)

And yeah, the very first part of the video was mostly "warming up". ;)

There are two components to the game: a non-subscription portion, and Conquest, which requires a subscription. The video here is from the non-subscription portion. Conquest is a set of persistent factional PvP zones with territory ownership, resource production, et cetera.

Nice vid. I have too much bad luck to be effective as a sniper. The second I start to snipe 5 enemies jump out of nowhere and instagank me.

@salgurdar You should plant mines, plan an escape route and not camp down anywhere, move after a minute or your second/first kill.

@Samage89 Good advice, I use those stratergies too, but my luck is just no good. I literelly mean I stop, sight up on someone and BAM 5 guys come round the corner or 3 recons pop out of stealth and I'm dead. Just bad luck really.

excellent commentary on these videos, would definitely recommend these to players starting out in the game. There were a few things in there I didn't know about like the indicators for turrets.

Hey if u don't mind me asking, how come when u were shooting ur sniper gun i saw no recoil....

Is it like that all the time or do u have a silencer on it?

If you mean the fact that the aimpoint center doesn't move, that's how all GA weapons work. If you mean you didn't see crosshair spread, then you must have missed it because it's there - albeit faster than base due to points spent in the Marksman skill tree.

have a 33 recon and 27 medic in this game, I was sniper for a while but i'm really enjoying melee people, feel like I make a big difference in the team winning.

very interesting! would love to know what the limitations of the cloaking device are lol seems a bit op while you are getting shot at. But obviously a skilled player!

Cloaking drains energy while you're stealthed; the rate depends on the rank of the device you have equipped. If you're damaged while in stealth, it reveals you (that's what the purple body glow is in some parts of the video) for a few seconds. DoT effects will also reveal you, and certain classes have devices that can reveal stealthed recons to them.
