  • Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Odd, the girl who sang for Eponine looks like my teacher

  • still funny after three years :D

  • Irony

  • please do one for 2012 :)

  • Actually quite comical ...

  • Very, very gay.

  • The funny thing is, the Friends of ABC were Republican.

  • there's no way around it:

the marius dude is frodo baggins

    "MUST DESTROY THE RING!"

  • How.

    Ironic.

  • I also love how the piece basically drew McCain and Palin as mustache-twirling cartoonish villains. Seriously awesome.

  • I guess the kid in the white shirt and black tie can be Gavroche.

  • My only criticism with the video is that an actor playing Todd Palin should have accompanied his wife during the Thenardiers' section of the song. Otherwise, beautiful piece. I just don't know how it took me this long to discover it.

On a side note, is it just me, or does "Marius, " mainly in terms of his blue button shirt, tie, and shaggy brown hair, look just like Jim Halpert?

  • One more day = a couple million more on our debt. Ron Paul 2012!

  • When Sarah Palin started singing I busted up laughing XD

  • 4 years more! 2012!

  • These are the bastard that are responsible for the OBAMA nightmare.

  • this always put a smile on my face

  • Talk about analogy backfire.

  • You do know that most of these characters die right?

  • Is that McCain and Palin at 1:52? If so, that's awesome.

  • LOVE IT

  • i love the "change" sign.

  • Does anyone know the real names of this cast? I particularly wouldn't mind knowing who that is that plays Enjolras... and whether he's single. ;-)

  • i voted for mccain. damn it why didn't the republicans do cool shit like this. les mis is my favorite musical!

  • Where is Obama?

  • Comment removed

  • This is what awesome is.

  • Javert, McCain in disguise

  • @cecariah0263 madame thernardier, sarah palin in disguise.

  • @cecariah0263 And he was ratted out by that goddamn whippersnapper Gavroche.

  • Don't know what bussiness this is but I want to get hired there

  • @cecariah0263 Its not a business, its one of those places that they have in multiple places around big cities where they support a certain runner in an election, thats why there were a few young people. Probably fresh out of college and getting into politics. They probably put this out the day before voting day so thats why they chose this song. But I agree, what better combo than Les Mis and Obama???

  • lol

  • This is possibly one of the most epic things I've ever seen.

  • Love the "Palin".

  • Do you think, maybe, that it's possible, that we all got wrapped up in this brilliant campaign, and thought Barrack would somehow change the entire system and we would have this new, beautiful way of life? I think I did...

Incredible video tho. I can't tell you how many times i watched this during 2008

  • If I lived in the US, was over 18, and not an Obama supporter beforehand, this would totally make me vote x.

  • ahh I love this video :)

Is the recording the original cast though? I can't tell...

  • @BloomAndGrow I think so. I am pretty sure I'm hearing Michael Ball's voice there. :)

  • @Lissical

hmm i hear it too, but I don't recognize the Eponine voice. doesn't sound like Frances or Lea to me...

  • @BloomAndGrow

It's the Complete Symphonic Recording, Eponine is being sung by Kaho Shimada.

  • If only Obama was as creative as his henchmen!!!

    Truly brilliant!!!!

  • It'd be awesome if the video had them setting up guillotines.

  • Marius looks like Jim from The Office.... *has horrible crossover ideas* OHGODOHGODNO

  • This.is.epic.

  • i dont like obama but....ha im still laughing

  • Still loving the choreography for Coffee Guy.

  • it's funny cos everyone dies in Les Mis.

  • forget everything his campaign had to offer.

all the reasons he thinks we should have voted for him for.

this single video alone made me vote for him.

  • hahaha this is so awesome!

  • Epic!!! I love this song!! And the staging is perfect. This, is just....wow. Bravo, guys. I officially love you. ^_^

  • i dont like obama but this video is epic

  • John McCain is my new favorite Javert.

  • AMAZING. I'm directing Les Miz and I was looking for a more . . . theatrical approach. But then I saw this and LAUGHED AND LAUGHED! WELL DONE!

  • LOL the guy who keeps popping up randomly to sing "One day More!"

    Win win.

  • God, I love this video..

  • ohhh my god, the guy who casually keeps walking into the room with coffee just to say "one day more" keeps making me kill myself with laughter

even now this vid is fantastically epic

  • Beautiful!

I was volunteer working in an Obama campaign office in southern Virginia the night this video supposedly is taking place. We were certainly neither all as good looking nor gifted with such wonderful voices, but still the atmosphere was not unlike the one portrayed here.

When I viewed it again today, I was left with the usual feeling: GET UP AND DO SOMETHING!

I will end this so that I can pick up the phone to invite some people to a local candidate's house party.

  • hahaha mccain secretly voting for obama

  • I wonder if any of them have realized that Obama is 90% Bush. From unjust wars, to Gitmo, to the anti-liberty patriot act, not much has actually changed.

  • @voteforpigeon student loan reform, the stimulus, the lily ledbetter fair pay for women act, hate crimes act, renewable energy production, FDA regulating tobacco, improved relations with much of the world...

And if nothing else, the bfd - healthcare reform

Hey, I'm also disappointed in guantanamo, iraq, afghanistan and the lack of the public option, but Obama is nowhere near 90% Bush.

  • Gotta say, I worship these folks

  • I agree... I love this. :)

  • try this losers vvvvvv armchairsubversive org

  • i think we're at a better position than we were 2 years ago :) i'm optimistic of a safer, cleaner, stronger, better future

  • This is awesome! Very well done!

  • This video is so freaking awesome.

  • A year and a half after the election and this video is still amazing.

  • u have issues, freaking b****

  • It's interesting that whether speaking out against the government is a duty or something which will "only make us a weaker nation" tends to depend on which party is in power at the time...

  • Hey LMIRL, can I get a claim from you?

  • Just in case anyone's interested, the correct spelling of those characters' names is "Thenardier". :-)

I LOVE this video - the 'Marius' character reminds me of Jim from "The Office."

  • Where did Éponine go? I don't see her at the end.

  • Does Javert make anyone else burst out laughing?

  • This is the most clever thing I ever saw. Oh god I wish more people did this.

  • WLW just did this! and i was in it! (Love this song)

  • oh man, I miss the campaign.. it was so much fun.

  • Oh yeah, fun times. XD

  • Epic... win... can't... stop.. laughing!

  • Amazing xD

  • Bluh my ONE beef with this video is they used the Broadway cast recording (the London cast is way better)...

    BUT STILL FAVORITED

  • Dude, this is the CSR cast, not the Broadway cast.

  • Psht, TAC pwns all.

  • This fills my geeky heart with GLEE! So funny.

  • This is funny., Good job. this is a good fit.

  • this is so funny

  • is this the dream cast/

  • lol, this was BRILLIANT lol! Valjean w/ a coffee cup... priceless lol!

  • i loved mcain + palin as the thenardies

  • McCain is Javert, not Thenardies

  • i love valjean with the coffee cup hahahhahh

  • haha, I wasn't an obama fan (not that I can vote anyways...) but I love Les Miz! it would have been great if "Enjolras" was wearing red, preferrably a vest!

  • what's your problem?

  • no problem

    what's ur question ?

    moron

  • I resent the fact that you called me a moron, and the fact that you will disrespect out government. We do have freedom of speech because of the first amendment, but speaking out against the government will only make us a weaker nation.

  • that's wrong

thomas jefferson said that criticizing the government and president is essential to make the land remain democratic

    if not it'll be treason

failing to criticize is being a traitor

u've just asked me commit treason which is to coverup for the government and shut up

i'll not cover for a fraud a crook and a liar like obama who has no certificate and posted a fake on internet

  • "speaking out against the government will only make us a weaker nation" -- A very common rationale for a more controlling government (less like a democracy). If we cannot speak out against the government, then the government has free reign to abuse the people. and the people become voiceless.

  • That is nonsense, what is the use of free speech if it is conditioned to maintain the status quo?

  • oh your both idiots

  • AMAZING

  • i adore this!

  • This didn't make any sense but I love the thought of McCain as master of the house.

  • You mean Javert. Yes it was funny. Palin was the lady of the house, there wasn't a master of the ouse anymore. Very funny actually.

  • I really don't.

  • Nice Tanardeas

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • Awesome!!!

    Obama is our countries Hope!!!

  • You bet!!!

  • this is absolute genius! haha whoever thought of this is hilariously smart.

  • Ok, so I'm totally not for obama, but that was So funny!

  • the first day i saw this was two weeks before we opened les mis at my school

  • Actually, that isn't the same logic at all..

The second amendment clearly states that the right to bear arms is directly related to the security of the state via a *well-regulated milita.* Note the well-regulated part--that means it's not a bunch of Johnny Rednecks running around playing shoot-em-up. The second amended was never intended for the freedom of assault rifles; it was intended so that we would not be tyrannized by people due to the fact that they have weapons, and we do not.

  • lol excelent ! :D

    thanks from france

  • The whole concept is so random but its very funny. Well done!

  • BRAVO!!!!

  • lol mccain is javere

  • wow poldiddy realy showed tintin

  • HAHA, I'm dying. This is beautiful! :D

  • What is McCain and Palin doing in Obama headquarters?

  • Well if it's going with the Les Mis plot McCain would be pretending to be an Obama supporter in order to spy on them... and Palin would just be an opportunist.

  • Comment removed

  • No wonder Ultimate Improv is the top improv group in LA! Where do they perform?

  • Ultimate Improv is the best!

  • I've been watching this since September... And i still LOVE it.

Im was a McCain supporter btw but this video is incerdible

  • lol at the Obama poster at 3:19

    I can't believe I didn't see this until today..

  • HAHAHAHAH

amazing. im doing this show now and this video has circulated through the entire cast

  • Fuck off with your "shot to hell." Obama is trying as best he can to patch together the smoldering remains of the country after 30+ years of deregulation, theft and speculation spearheaded by the Republicans.

  • I'd LOVE to see some of these "actual and irrefutable facts" of yours.

  • @tintintabulations So help you god

  • Susan Boyle brought me here !

  • This was sent out to us volunteers the evening before election day. I must have listened to it about 40 times before I went out to phone bank and give rides to the polls.

    Good times... good times.

  • Apart from Barack Obama himself, and the millions of Americans who supported him and sent him to the White House, this video is the single most awesome thing I will always remember from this election.

  • Looking back on this, and also having seen it just before the election, I still find this hilarious and well done. By now we know it was done by Ultimate Improv in LA and was part lip syncing and part real voices. WELL DONE TO ALL!

  • what production is this version from? these voices are much better than any in productions i've heard, and they are quite obviously lip synching. anyone know?

  • It's not the original cast, u can buy it on itunes. It's called "Les Miserables - The Complete Symphonic Recording"

  • That was the singular most fantastic thing I've ever seen. The End.

  • dubbed obviously

  • Are these really the people singing or are they dubbing?

  • On a lighter not without the political crap.

I love les mis and this interpretation of it is awesome!

If people want to argue over politics take its somewhere else besides the video. other people including i would like to look at the comments to the video not an argument.

    Thank you!

  • Yay! I love Les Miz.

  • If you did not raise your voice to object the anti constitutional measures that Bush and his cronies were enacting in their 8 years, then you have no business speaking now. Something had to be done then, and our best alternative was bho. Unlike you, we will hold our guy's feet to the fire and make sure he does not turn this country into a poor imitation of a third world dictatorship.

  • So, now I don't have the right to voice my opinion? Or, if I do, I'm just a "dumbass"? Do you hear yourselves? Is this your idea of a free society?

I'm not intimidated by your bullshit. You want to shut me up? Not going to happen. And there are millions like me that will forever stand against your social tyranny. You will not win. We will be free from government, religion, and manipulation by the small minded, repeaters of this world.

Google David Icke and FREE YOUR MIND!

  • I thought we were having a lucid discourse until you brought up Icke. Forgive my shortsighted reptilian id, I thought you were serious for a second there. I just don't understand how anyone can endure with so nihilistic and paranoid a mien. Anyway, carry on fighting the good fight on Youtube.

  • Here's your chance, Mog; prove David Icke wrong. Enlighten me with your wisdom. I'm all ears, er, eyeballs :) I promise to give your argument serious consideration. Let's have it.

  • lol you guys fail...

  • That's nice. So, are all those campaign volunteers going to hold him accountable for his campaign promises? Because, so far, your messiah hasn't changed anything. The $800M you raised for him is being paid back to the bankers by the federal reserve (aka taxpayers). He's sending MORE troops to war. And, he's surrounded himself with career politicians from the Clinton era. Is the the change you were expecting? Rep or Dem, they all work for the bankers, and so do you.

  • What's your alternative, genius? Armed revolution?

  • Today's news (3/24/09) from the Washington Post:

U.S. Seeks Expanded Power to Seize Firms

You tell me, Mog; is it time to grab our torches and pitchforks?

  • Or, how about HR 1388:

A passage contained in section 6104 of the original House version entitled Duties, in subsection B6, states that a commission will be set up to investigate, Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed.

Is that the change that bho supporters had in mind while they were campaigning for him?

  • Here's an excrept from the Senate version of the same bill:

Section 120 of the bill discusses the Youth Engagement Zone Program and states that service learning will be a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency.

Change we can believe in? What does that ambiguous slogan mean anyway? Nothing.

I would say the new boss is looking alot like the old boss.

  • Ok, here's the tie in for this thread:

Lee Cary of the conservative American Thinker warns that Obamas agenda is to, tap into the already active volunteerism of millions of Americans and recruit them to become cogs in a gigantic government machine grinding out his social re-engineering agenda.

So, you see? All the excitement that went into the election is being capitalized on to push fascist legislation that Bush only dreamed of proposing. Isn't it obvious?

  • Dumbass. He said during the campaign that he would send more troops to Afghanistan and take troops out of Iraq, and he's doing both. And he picked peole from the Clinton Era because they were the bestr people for the job. He has plently of people who weren't from the Clinton era. Obama promised a stimulus, he's delivering. Obama promised tax cuts for the middle class, and that's going to be part of the budget. Obama promised to normalize relations, and Iran is already more willing to talk.

  • You're living in a dream world, Neo.

  • Russia is also willing to talk...

  • i love this

  • Heyy didn't expect to see u here.

  • Does anyone know what cast this is? Sounds like Michael Ball on one bit, but I've never heard the others..basically i NEED this soundtrack!

  • I love this so much XDD

    cant stop loving XD

  • cant stop laughing..

  • bravisimo

  • I just peed my pants on this one. Great job guys, fantastic musical, great song, and comedic brilliance in this- standing O.

  • Thank you everyone! It is funny - the economy may be going through some tough times right now BUT I have never been more RELAXED. The NeoCons are gone and the USA is once again on a path for peace and prosperity... we may have a few dark days ahead but after 8 LONG years... we are back on the right track! Thank you for this great video!

  • that is probably one of the funniest things ever!! lol it hakes me laugh so hard!

  • That was beautiful.

  • Student Revolution, actually.

  • Ha! You know it's kind of funny. Les Mis is one of the most influential musicals of the last 25 years, and 9 out of 10 people still think it's about the French Revolution. Total fail, man.

  • I'm still waiting for their rendition of Beggars at the Feast, as performed by the Obama Administration Lobbyists.

  • bad continuity with McCain coming in with no Obama/Biden sticker, then in the next shot of him, he has one.

  • omg i love it!!! haha

  • lesmisnutjob: Well guess what? That "dunce" is the president of the most powerful country on earth, and you're stuck as a feeble
