Awesome car. This is the first I've seen of the flares being riveted rather than integrated, and I think that's smart, in that no cracks later on, plus it looks very strong!
actually some of the race Corvettes could be made quite light... they would strip alot of stuff from the interior that was not needed and save hundreds of pounds.
@TransAmDrifter The old engines did pack some weight yes but add chassis and suspension parts along with other stuff and yeah you'll be eating the scale. Some do Aluminum head and intake conversion for weight save when we dive in. some do brake or suspension system upgrade and other things. but not all want to strip a classic vette as you know but many like the idea of light fast and sticky in the corners.
look for videos in here for others that auto X or road race their C3's
Wow I first saw this vette in a google search and fell in love with it, now I'm really glad to see it in action; its even better than I imagined. Props!
by the way what year is it and where did you get those flares?! your car is perfect.
Wow, I normally don't like Vettes with major body modifications but this one looks GREAT!! You did an awesome job! Do you have any more pictures or videos of this car?
Hi, it's a custom built exhaust starting with a hooker header, it has an X pipe just after the crossmember and a couple of modded open mufflers...internal diameter is 2 3/4''.
Best working rpms from 3.000/up, it's a bit lazy below that figure but it goes right up to 6.500rpm (and over if you let it)veeery quickly...G

This is the most beautiful C3 I've ever seen, and c3 vettes are the most beautiful cars of the world.
I love the flares, rear tyres size, rims, the white 17 number and the black opaque color of this car.
Looks like a genuine hybrid dragster/nascar race car :)
minimalarts 8 months ago
That looks good, most of the c3s here in america are all trailer trashed out and ruined. :/

@TransAmDrifter i think 1250kg is light when you understand that these 3rd gen vettes set at 1700-1800+kg. 1250 is race weight in many classes

@antipeacemilitias that's because engine block made of cast iron?

Holy crap, I love this car. Where did you find the flares and the hood. I've found universal flares but can't find the hood anywhere. Thanks
nicedreams666 1 year ago
The hood is custom built blending a stingray scoop on top of a high rise Ecklers hood...
