My point being that it's not that uncommon for politicians (or anyone else, for that matter), to use popular phrases which other people have used before. It's done very often, especially in politics.

If you want to find fault with a politician, find something substantial. Don't try to create a mountain out of a molehill. ;)

Uhhhm - do you people do ANY research at all? Patrick completely endorses Obama, and works with Obama on his campaign. Patrick has said specifically that he doesn't see the need to credit him for the Obama speech.

Hmmm......for someone that states he is for "Change" and makes comments about "past politics" brings to mind that ole saying , "pot meet kettle, kettle meet pot". I guess using "past speeches of govenors" is how one starts "change".
