Whats all this dissecting crap of this excellent POP song ? Jesus christ, compared with the UTTER CRAP spewed out from all the media today---This IS a bloody CLASSIC !! It tells of the INTENTION to write a classic. This has a lot going for it--unique voice, good counter vocals, interesting mid break, and great guitar riff---wish it didn't fade out so quickly thtas all. Wish I'd written it. etc.
No one claimed the song was a classic. The song talks about going to write a classic. Well to me, I still enjoy this song today, and it's been more than twenty years since I heard it. I would say that is classic :) Whether you like it or not......
I don't care where it was written. I fell in love with a boy, he loved me also. But he was gay and I am not. He died of aids. This song is his more than mine, but I still love it xxx
No you certainly cant take it away from anyone if the write a song in a fucking attic but how can someone who writes a song in an attic, write it down and send it right away? They are stuck in an attic loland futhermore if your writting a song in an attic or anything for that matter, how can they see more clearly? they/you are stuck in the fucking attic man lol
Looks like a lot of my fellow you tube travellers have gone the same route to this song. (To not be ambiguous, I mean via "The Trip": Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon.) Indeed, not a classic.
I think this song, while it may well have been written in an attic, is by no stretch of the imagination a classic. How do you feel about that? I'm gonna write a song; I'm gonna write a reasonably melodic but ultimately disappointing song. It's actually very defensive. You can say what you like about that song. Maybe, Maybe it wasn't a classic. But I'll tell you one thing - I wrote it in a fucking attic! You try take that away from me!
@dfoggin Yes, thanks for that Steve Coogan verbatim ripoff. But as has been so correctly pointed out, he's not referring to the CURRENT song, but to the song he WILL write. If he were referring to the current song, the lyrics would've been "I wrote this classic, I wrote it in the attic". (But don't feel too bad, my point is also very nearly a verbatim ripoff from someone else ...)
@dfoggin really...did you see Anne Frank there? and monsters? and like rude things that grandma forgot she hid there? bones and spiders and more rude things? are you Jewish|? cos I think maybe Hitler hid there on his way to Rio...do you have another hit in you? its been a while..maybe a cellar and secret corridor..go for it dfogger
he was obviously aspiring to write a classic in his attic, possibly a book, cos this is definately not a classic song lol in fact its only vaguely memorable in the way that vague memories come to mind with the odd whiff of a vagulely familiar perfume that some girl used to wear way back when lol
Now a classic is Joe Dolce Shaddup a ya face a song both annoying yet catchy and memorable for its horriffic assualt on the charts :)
one of my all time favourite records, love every beat of it It was in the charts when i was going through a very sad time of my life and it still brings tears to my eyes when i listen to it . Sometimes i play this over and over and have been doing so ever since this was in the charts and i bought it as a single which incidently ive still got and play regually I'll never tire of it. Our very talented Adrian moved to the States pity i think he still had lots to offer Their gain our loss
you dudes, theres somethings wrong with the lyrics. I think its streetboy not stray boy.. but i truly love this song and i dedicate it to rosalinda who is nearing her 50 eventhough im 35
Got to write a classic Got to write it in an attic Baby, I?m an addict now An addict for your love I was a stray boy And you was my best toy Found it easy to annoy you But you were different from the rest And I loved you all the wrong ways Now listen to me say If it changed to another way Would the difference make it Would it be a classic I gotta send it right away
Please please please can anyone help me!!! I am trying to write a classic at the moment but i am writing it in my loft.
Does anyone know any synonims for classic that rhyme with loft ?
Unfortunately i dont have the luxory of an attic and have to crouch under the rafter beams and am coming out in a rash from all the pipe lagging. It is really uncofortable up there but will be worth it if i write a hit.
Thank you lucyisme996.....been searching this song for almost 20 yrs.... it's finally here!!!! I didn't even know the title or who sang it and no one seems to know this song which only heard it once ....!!! Thank you again!
Thanks.back when this song came out my xgirlfrievd left me and i bought this album played it every day very sad now i am much older enjoy it thanks again
If you are out there..... Parkway diner, Rumpled Romeo.... BlueBoy..... Now I understand. You made it so difficult, you should have just said it.

What is it about this song...it really hit something in me.. inside....
from the young days....and still does. Number 2 on my forever top 10....
and i'm even too old for this.

Gotta write a classic,(so down and I'm outta control without your love)
Gotta write it in an attic,(my blood can't flow, there's no living without you)
Babe, I'm an addict now(deep down I know..)
An addict for your love.(You're not hearing a word I say)
Just to add the *invisible lyrics* to add to the passion - hope you don't mind Lucy.
So many memories *sigh*
