as much as i would love to believe in that, i know it couldn't be true. i grew up myself in a christian family being told exactly that and taught exactly that. as i grew up though i felt lied to because it was the only "truth" i knew instead of getting my own choice of belief to find the real "truth" i grew up learning all that since age 1 i was in a christian church and surrounding but in the end when i got old enough to choose for myself. i am agnostic. that is me but it can happen to anyone

If you want to spend more time with your dad, perhaps try doing things tthat he is interested in. For example, if he likes golf, take up golf and join him in games. Or if he is in ministry, join the ministry and ask him questions 'he can answer' even if you know the answer.

Sometimes I think dad's don't do a good job, not because they don't love their kids, they just don't 'know how to. Hope that helps. God bless.
