  • So can I buy one yet....great work....

  • From a sailors point of view if you could get these higher off the ground you would get higher wind velocities and more power. Friction from the water and earth... Don't know much about the vain design but it may have to change for higher velocities...

  • @pangavamanos

You're absolutely right. Come over and help me lift it up higher. Once i get it the way I want it I will put it on the roof peak.

I have been experimenting with voltage trippler and voltage sixer. Today I tested and got 31 vdc at 40 rpm with the sixer, and 15.4 at 60 rpm with the trippler.

That's another video sometime. You can do a lot with 3 phase ac through different circuits.

Believe me if I were anywhere near your place I'd be over to help... but more to learn. You have great vid's I love what your doing. Keep up the good work, and thanks again for sharing.

  • @LynxSteam Believe me if I lived near your place I come by to help and to learn. I can't wait for the vid on the vdc multiplier videos! I'm all ears (and eyes as it were). Thanks again for sharing your stuff.

  • No, on this early version it was two sections of a wing profile trim molding. This was a not so successful first attempt. The wings on the return had to push a lot of air out of the way. Not so much oncoming wind but air.

I like the most current version with the Lenz2 rotor, check it out.

  • Looks like you used PVC for the blades..Is this correct???

  • Very nice looking VAWT

  • awesome machine I hope you make out well with the kits keep us updated

  • Thanks, there is nothing incredibly novel except for the rotor blades being airfoils and their angle to the wind. The goal is to get this all cut with CNC cutters for precision and boxed as a kit. As soon as possible! The alternator for it has undergone a couple design changes to drop the cost. I am a big believer in simple and cost efficient design.

What you may not notice is that it is silent, unlike HAWTs.

A DIY kit for a one day assembly.

  • Marcus, this is spectacular; nice clean design. Love the sound of the lake as well.
