As of April 12, 2010, Physicians for Peace has been declared persona non grata and has been asked to leave Eritrea. The entire program, including the medical school, and the post graduate education of Pediatricians, Surgeons, and OB/GYNs is imperiled. This decision was made by the Minister of Health of Eritrea. This is a heartbreaking decision and will effect the health of the Eritrean people for generations.
Where is the project at now? Asmarino5 you have done well so far, but most of your documentaries do not have follow up stories. For E.g., this story begs for an uptodate progress the project. Thanks
I am so happy . I wish that other African nations would pay attention to the Eritrean model. We do not want you all to come by every year and perform surgeries and procedure. We want you to come and teach us to do it for ourselves all the time.
@pharmacyiii It's time to stop just thinking about the salaries of the professionals and to start thinking of the number of people who are in need. They may not get paid like their peers, but they will get properly compensated. The country needs health professionals in different specialties to treat the amount of people suffering. This is a big step.
This is a great victory for the people of Eritrea. I would like to thank the partnership of the MoH, PoP, and G.W. university on enhancing the level of social justice for all Eritreans!
My admiration, respect and humble gratitude goes to those who work tirelessly to bring such a wonderful opportunity to the native land Eritra. And Kudos to George Washington medical school.
I love you Asmarino5. you are the best keep up spreading the good news as always. I checked your new website and I was just speechless empressed and It is one of myfave's..lol.
I wouldn't want to pass with out giving the due credit and respect to the hon. minster Salih Meki and hon. Dr. Haile Mesgebe. Eritrea is blessed. And my thanks go to the staff from George Washington medical school.
If President Isaias accepted them wearing a pair of nice shoes and a suit top....it must means that he really appreciated their contribution :)
