so after watching all these games it seems like skill level wise salisbury is no different from hopkins, duke , hofstra , etc. so why do so many athletes want to go to D1 schools instead? someone told me because D3 schools have no money to hand out scholarships is that true?

The stick skills may be comparable, but the difference you will see is in the size and speed of the athletes. The D1 teams, especially the top 15, also have amazing depth. There are plenty of D3 lax players that could play for top D1 schools, but on the whole, the top D1 programs would handle any of the top D3 programs.

They scrimmaged Duke prior to this season. There was no official score kept, but it was a tight game (Duke won by a goal or two). When I was a student there in the early 90's (Coffman era) they played UMASS (who was ranked in the top 20) and Salisbury smoked them.
