The Real Meaning Of Christmas, how many of you still know the real meaning ? If you do !! how many of you think its all about getting the most expensive presents, or the best christmas tree, we've lost all traditions, turn it all into greed and money yet everyone is still not happy, for my one wish all i want is for C...hristmas is everyone to believe in themselves, and respect others
It's fine to celebrate Jesus at Christmas, but this isn't the only original meaning. In the Germanic world (I believe in Asatru), Yule was celebrated in December before Christianity. And they had a good time. I intend to celebrate Jesus in September instead because I do think he has some importance in our world.
I don't celebrate Christmas because Jesus was born. I celebrate it to show my appreciate to my family, and to share the memories we've had over the year. Jesus has nothing to do with the memories we share.
@Mazina84 Yeah, put everyone else in your own situation. Assume everyone shares your way of thinking. Tell us what our priorities is supposed to be, and that all our other feelings and perceptions comes second to what YOU think is right. No wonder people think religion is arrogant, narrow-minded and stupid.
@darthguy3 You are very much free to believe in what you wish. I am only saying that the process of how Christ became the center of Christianity was not only a political choice, but a process of maturity for people who were philosophers. If I took an arrogant approach is my mistake, but I am only trying to highlight an aspect how Jesus substituted and gave existential meaning than the gods. And very naturally ancient gods became myth and personifications in the arts.
@Mazina84 Well to me they are all myths. I'm not saying it's not there, but I won't blindly believe just because everyone else does the same. Give me proof that it exists, or that it doesn't and I shall then adjust my beliefs according to it. In the meantime, I remain neutral neither believing it does exist nor that it doesn't.
@darthguy3 I There is nothing worse letting other force you to believe in something which you do not feel deep inside. I think when people force others to believe in something creates more harm and conflict, and that is the mistake of religious fundamentalism it leads to violence. I honestly think your approach is the best way. Only one thing, there is nothing wrong in seeing the dynamics of religions from an objective way. Always peacefully. Those who use religion as a weapon are hypocrites.
@caligrl109 It stands fot CHRIST's MASS, it was a pagan holiday which was Christianized by Constantine and the Catholic Church round about the year 321.
It actually doesn't have anything to do with Christ, If you are protestant you shouldn't even follow Christmas as we are not instructed to and BTW Christ was not born on the 25th and that you can find in Scripture, So if you really feel compelled to keep it, at least try and keep it on the correct date. You can find out for yourself
@zerolud1 Through Allegory Jesus became more important and gave an answer to philosophy, the greek and roman gods became personifications of virtues and vices. God, Yahweh replaced the gods, and they decided the 25th of December because it celebrated the Sun God = The God of Life.....which was God... one should not get to a easy understanding why Catholics chose the 25th of December. Get your theory right before speaking
@Mazina84 I'm sorry but it's not a theory but facts, and Sun God = God? Serious? God in Scripture warns that Sun Worship is an Abomination unto him, Sun Gods were Pagan to the core, The Altars of the various Sun gods was destroyed by Yahweh (also in Scripture).
I don't know what religion you are but don't try to link God with Paganism please and study scripture please cause obviously you don't know how Yahweh feels regarding false gods
@zerolud1 hehe I am not linking pagan with Christianity, and it is not my religion... I am simply outlining the process how people thought about gods and how they developed an idea of deity. Actually this is something historical and very anthropological which lead to Christ being light for many philosophies at that time. From what I humbly think is not heresy only a reading of one aspect of history. How gods became myths, and how Yahweh/Allah became the absolute God today.
@caligrl109 It's Christ's Mass meaning it's an Mass for the death of Christ. It's a celebration of Satan's Victory over Christ (or that's what they think) .We know better.
Thank you for this. I dislike people when they say "presents are all about christmas!" but it's not. I put my heart and soul into loving jesus. Im not all religious like can't wear skrits above your knees but i do love Jesuses with all the power and will i have.

@darthguy3 You can enrich your gift of family by Christ... however the 25th of December is primarily about Jesus, and other things comes secondary...
