I contacted a doctor at a free clinic who was more than willing to help me as long as i got all his tests. Did that, now i get hormones. Yeah!

not to give unsound medical advice but for me waiting for all the letters and doctors and crap, i got anxious and started hormones diy. i still went through the process and got a prescription but it can be better than waiting. waiting for hormones is miserable, i waited for three years after coming out (though i wasn't really in transition the whole time) and really wanted to start before i turned 20.

If you get your testosterone inhibitor from your doctor, and if there are other reasons you want less testosterone (to decrease unwanted erections etc) make sure u tell her that too.

Hi Ashley, No you are way cool!! And I can't beleive you amazing u look!! I still look less girly than you after about 9 months on HRT! And about your hormones, My local GP prescribed me with the androgen-inhibitor tablets before I was even diagnosed- I'd try a nice (preferably female) ordinary doctor to start you off on these - they are allowed to prescribe this for other health problems, so it should be easier. Androcur is what i'm on. Keep trying with the search for an endo, mine's great- she

I found an endocrinologist though my therapist several years ago, now I work for them! It was just a coincidence that I was assigned there to do my internship.

You may be better off visiting these places in person and asking to speak with an office manager and see what there policy is working with the transgender community. Usually the receptionist is not educated enough to determine if you are a good candidate for hormone treatment or may not even understand what you are talking about.
